Went for the first time to meet up with my friend and she had several other friends there also for a meeting. My husband had placed a to go order and when he went next door his order pager went off. I went up to get his order and went and sat back down with the party I was with. I had no idea what he ordered (he was taking it home to the kids). When he got back he got the fries out and started eating them. Another person in our party said she hadn’t received her food still and went to go see what was going on. Apparently they rang the wrong pager and gave me her food. We gave her the tacos we still had in the bag so she was just missing the asada fries. The owner came to our table with our order and wanted to find out what happened. We were telling him they rang our pager but gave us the wrong order and we gave her the tacos but she just needed the asada fries (since my husband had started eating them). He told my husband he had the wrong fries and snatched them away from him. The guy had an ugly attitude and everyone was telling him the girl just needed a new order of fries and us our tacos (that were in his hand). He was still arguing, threw the fries my husband had been eating onto the table in front of me and stormed off. The food was good, but bad service...
Read moreI don't know what is happier , my tastebuds , my eyes , or meeting a new friend. I had not seen the new name until yesterday, so I decided to try it today for lunch. It is small inside ( I have been here thru all of its places), but this is my favorite decor, it is so cute!! Now the food; oh my goodness!! I had the Asada French fries , they were so good , hot , ( to the last bite) I got the smallest size and still had to share with my husband. The queso was very good , not thin, but it stayed smooth , not thick like some quesos get as soon as poured over anything. The meat was cut small , which was nice it was seasoned very well and was easy to eat as it was tender, and I got meat and queso in every bite. It had onions , but they were cooked ,so they did not taste strong as white onions can be. It also had just the right amount . I did tell them to hold the cilantro . My husband had the pastor street tacos , I tasted a bite, and it was very good. Some pastor meat can be greasy , this was not. I met the owner, Sam, and he was very nice and told me about eventually expanding the menu , I am fine with what they have now ,but I look forward to new as well. I am happy to support small businesses this...
Read moreUnlike other reviews, the wait time was not bad. That was the real winner (only winner) of the night here with Jefe's.
Not really sure why we were told there were only 2, yes 2, printed menus. Those were being used by a couple, so the young lady asked if we were ready to order. No QR codes for a menu, just free ball it and order. That was the first abnormal part of this dining experience.
Ordered street tacos and got some fries with asada. Not sure why the young lady behind the counter gave me those? I also ordered a Topo Chico and she kept trying to hand me a Coke. My loaded fries were not what I expected from the street taco place.
My son ordered the street tacos and actually got what he ordered. The tacos looked like the size of appetizers. He said they were alright.
The entire place was filled with smoke. Not sure if the exhaust fans crapped out but it was filled and it looked like Jefe's had a smoke machine blasting the place.
Final complaint is the entire tiny street tacos, loaded fries (2), water and Topo resulted in me spending $45. My street tacos served at my local flea market (Houston) are 100% better and...
