My husband, son and I decided to try Redboat tonight. I looked at the menu, pictures, reviews on Google/FB which we're over all good...food/prices ect. However I notice people's bad reviews stating that their have been times they haven't been open during posted hour of operation. So, I tried calling to make sure they were open and I wanted to place an order for pickup. After several attempts with no answer (which I should have taken as a sign) I left the house on a 20min round trip excursion that left us with no food, wasted gas, and time. When I got to the restaurant and was ordering the employee explained they are out of boudin balls and ALL seafood boils till next week! In my opinion if you are out of a menu item that is highly promote on the restaurants website or socal media site someone needs to post updates (explaining supply issues...which I understand) OR better yet at the very least answer the phones when customers call so that the business doesn't get bad reviews for things that are beyond their control. I was looking forward to adding a new seafood place to my list but I am not going to go out of my way to go to Redboat just to leave emptyhanded again. When my family actually is able to try the food that we went there for I will...

I’ve heard my girlfriend rave about the food at Red Boat, insisting I’d enjoy it. Well, she was wrong — I didn’t just like it, I absolutely loved it. As someone who appreciates quality ingredients and flavor execution, Red Boat exceeded expectations on every level.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and unpretentious — a place that puts its focus where it belongs: on the food. The seafood was impeccably fresh, perfectly seasoned, and clearly prepared with both passion and culinary precision. Every dish reflected thoughtful technique and respect for the ingredients.

I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, a gracious and genuinely kind gentleman who clearly takes pride in his restaurant and its reputation. It’s always refreshing to see a business run with heart and integrity.

If you’re looking for bold flavors, top-notch seafood, and an experience that speaks to both quality and care — Red Boat is a must-visit. A hidden gem that deserves all the...

The person at the window was not very friendly at all. Not sure if he was the owner or an employee. Not very helpful with the menu. Had a very dry sense of humor They were out of all kinds of drinks stating he had to go restock when he closed up. The lobby was hot and the tables were dirty for the most part. They had several people come in in order after I did and they ended up getting their food before me so I had to wait even longer to get my food. When I finally did get my food I was going to eat it there but there was no silverware with the food. He just handed me the container and closed the window. Went ahead and took the food home so I can eat it with silverware and the food was not great at all. No flavor and it was drowned in sauce which the sauce had no flavor. Don't waste your time by spending money here. You will be...

Update: I brought my family to try the food out. One had their shrimp boil, and the other two had two different kinds of plate with drum. It was good. Warning, if you are planning to eat there, it is a small area and very warm inside. But the food was good! Great food! I got the special, 6 shrimp and fish. The shrimp were large size and in a mixture of cornmeal and flour type of breading. The fish was Drum fish in a cornmeal type of breading, nicely fried where the tips were crunchy but the fish was not over fried. The waffle fries could have been a little better and not just placed in the tray for the fish and shrimp to drain. Very professional way of ordering, given a restaurant beeper that vibrated when food was done. Only one man managing the front slipping behind the door to grab orders.

Wonderful stop with a great outside seating. The owner here really provides a nice a colorful space where you may not expect one. Someone who really has great attention to detail who put this really cool color choice. The way the things in the wall are painted around but the things above the wall are painted under really make this piece so unique. The theme is followed from the light brown antelope space to the dense rainforest green through the area around the light box. The manager saw my skepticism for someone else’s fish but when I picked up my order of shrimp he gave me a sample of their fish paid on the house. It was wonderful. Period. This is a gem of spot with all areas - SERVICE, DESIGN, and TASTE. Great way to ensure I come back to eat whenever I pass through

First time trying Red Boat Seafood. I came in just before 8p hoping to hit the drive-thru; the restaurant overview shows they have a drive-thru, but they don't. The place was very quiet, with no other customers at the time, but the establishment smelled and looked clean. As for the food, the fish and fries were good, the shrimp was rubbery, the hushpuppies were overcooked a tad bit still good, and the tartar sauce was a bit heavy on the tang; I'm not sure if they use dill or sour pickle, but it's tangy for sure. They were out of anything that wasn't seafood. Overall, decent food and good price.
