I had a moldy potato with the root black through to the middle of the potato in my Krab Lovers plate (comes with 2 snow crab clusters, 1 Egg, 1 Corn, 1 Sausage and Potatoes) which is expensive I might add, for $42 for what you get it’s not worth it. I don’t mind paying extra for seafood but not for poor quality and a small amount. I called to let them know about the moldy potato and they said the manager said it was probably just the root. I told them yes the root was obviously there too but there was also a black spot of mold on the outside of the potato as well. They dismissed me and didn’t own up or apologize for it. They stuck by the “it was just the root.” Mind you, I am VERY familiar with food and food safety as I have worked as a cook in several restaurants before. This is unacceptable. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all. Also, the crab was overcooked as crab usually is able to be pulled out of the leg easily when cooked right and has a wonderful texture. This did NOT. It was likely overcooked then reheated. The corn was overcooked, the Cajun seasoning was sweet instead of spicy which was a big disappointment. The butter wasn’t even real clarified butter. It was butter “sauce” that comes in a plastic tub, and they added herbs to it. I asked for original butter when they asked what flavor I wanted, because I figured original would be plain. Mistake. They also didn’t provide lemons which is usually standard when you order crab anywhere else. And the portion was VERY small for $42. I wish I went to another place where my $ would have been worth it. Also, my child’s fried shrimp and fries were completely cold. I checked in the car before leaving and it was cold before we even left to go home so I know it didn’t just get cold otw home, plus my food was slightly warm so that was obv they didn’t time it right when they cooked it. The atmosphere is like that of a dirty bar and smells like sewage. Again I do not recommend this place. Get your seafood fix somewhere else! To top it off, I went as a birthday treat, but was highly disappointed. I haven’t had seafood like that in about a year. So this was...
Read moreHubby & I tried this for the 1st time today during lunch. We were the only ones there for most of our stay. The single waitress was very nice, attentive, the dine in area clean, simple, and tasteful decor. My 2 favorite things to eat are Razoo's fried seafood & my hubby's seafood boil so based on the menu, it seemed to offer the best of both worlds. We ordered the Boudin Balls appetizer $9.99, Coastal Boil with Original or Old Bay Seasoning & OG Butter (1 crab cluster, 1 corn, shrimp, sausage, potatoes & 1 boiled egg) $28.99, & 2 Fish, 4 Shrimp plus fries basket $9.99.
We asked for the egg to be substituted for anything else; No substitutions allowed. We asked for 2 small waters (we drink very little during meals), we were originally charged for 2 medium waters $3 each, $4 is for large. I told her not bottle just regular tap & she said they still charge full price for water..
Our fried meal came with 1 tarter sauce & ketchup. We asked for extra plus lemons. Lemons were free, ketchup & tarter was extra.
Everything came out fresh & cooked perfectly. All fried items are cooked in the corn meal batter; not my favorite type. Basket had small portions, good flavor, but batter was spotty. Boudin balls were very hard, salty, with a slight burnt taste (but didn't look it.) Boil had plenty of butter & seasoning & tasted very good, all portions were adequate except the crab cluster was thinner than what you get at HEB. In 2 bites, it was gone.
We declined the 2 waters ($6) & extra sauces ($5) so that would have added up the price even more. My husband was hesitant to ask for a to go container in case they charge for that too.
Overall, for the taste, price, and portion size, we didn't think it was worth it. Glad we...
Read moreCame here from out of town and worst decision ever. The food took quite awhile which was understandable because it claims they make it fresh to order. BUT.. when the food came out, it was COLD. There was no way this was made fresh to order. My friends and I all had super cold food. We talked to the manager or whoever came out and said he was not allowed to give a refund because that was their policy. I explained to them that this was 1. expensive and we weren’t going to eat it and 2. The restaurant was HOT - so there was no way the restaurant cooled our food off. The manager said he looked at the cameras and the timing and that there would’ve been no way the food was cold, that even the plates are in a heater type thing. Which couldn’t have been possible because when I say everything was cold, it was cold. I spoke to the manager and told him we weren’t from here, we could care less about the place and all we wanted was a refund. He was adamant on that being their policy, which is honestly ridiculous considering this is food - what if there was a hair in it? We then asked if he could remake it and he SAID NO. This shocked us, it was laughable at this point. He said the only thing he could do was reheat it. We just left. The friends we went with are business owners and we must admit, this was bad business Next time time, I’d take the hit. Regardless, I don’t recommend. The wait, food, and...
