Been to this hotel many times this was our first time eating in the actual restaurant located inside the hotel we sat ourselves and nobody came to the table for over 10 minutes. We should’ve took that as a sign to leave, but we decided to hold on. At first thing seemed to be OK, even though the atmosphere was extremely rowdy , loud. The server brought out our drinks after that she never came back. She then proceeded to take the order of the people behind us, even though we were seated before them just because she seemed to know them on a personal level. She takes the order we’re thinking OK cool. We order an appetizer , salad and our actual dinner items , 30 minutes go by no appetizer. I finally say something and she wants to come up with some weird excuse that had nothing to do with anything. She then brings all the food out all at once, which makes no sense. Why would you bring an appetizer out with the main courses ?????? I then proceed to find a long blonde hair inside my salad. How absolutely ridiculous!!! So rude and unprofessional...

Ok cool, I get it, she is very right! So we went back to the beach without drinks. We then turned around and had our husband’s (whom are BOTH younger than us) walk up from the beach and order drinks for us… guess what- they were NOT asked for ID. I thought “it’s the law” isn’t? Not sure if you want to call it a discrimination or maybe she felt she would get a bigger tip from men, no matter what the reason I still got my drinks. And selectively doing your job right needs to...
Read moreWe stayed at the Wyndham and were pleasantly surprised the restaurant had new ownership.
We ordered take-out both breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious and some of the best on the Island. The service was great every time. We had the salmon with various vegetables. The salmon was awesome. The vegetables were excellent. We got spinach, asparagus, zucchini, mac and cheese and green beans between the family. For breakfast we had the French toast and avocado toast with egg. The potatoes and bacon were very tasty.
The Anchor Beach is well worth trying. We have found a new restaurant on the Island with great cooking...
