We went here as we came to Cortez Colorado for the national park. The place is super cute- very organized. They have an outside patio, they do serve alcohol. The staff is super friendly, the location is also nice. They have parking here, and they have brunch during the weekends and your brunch comes with a mimosa. They also have weekly specials. We got in there and we're pretty impressed with the restaurant presentation, super clean. The outside patio is super cool as well, I'm sure at night it's even nicer since they have patio lights. The menu is a bit overwhelming- wayyyyy too much to even pick from. I myself like smaller menus so I don't get overwhelmed. The server brought us chips, house salsa, and beans and chorizo bean dip - pretty impressed. We ordered the sampler appetizer it came with wings, cheese quesadilla, potato skins with beans and cheese, as well as shredded beef taquitos. The tortillas are not homemade - that was a little disappointing specially with all the awesome decor. I ordered enchiladas suizas, the rice was bland, the enchiladas needed more cheese for sure and the beans were okay. I wasn't impressed. The other person ordered the steak which was a really big New York steak with potatoes, beans, enchilada, and store bought flour tortillas. We went here because of the reviews, but again the food was just okay. I wasore impressed with the chips and salsa and bean dip than anything else. The potato skins with bean and cheese were also awesome. The service was awesome.

This was the best experience we've had in years! We absolutely loved the food and all the staff, Querida is awesome all by herself but, the team work makes this dream work, no kidding, which, if u ask us, is what makes this such a unique dining experience! The margaritas is where the magic and deliciousness all started!! The skinny margaritas r too die for! Not kidding either! The Jalapeno margaritas are also to die for, cuz, I really thought I had died and gone to heaven! The flavor was just spot on, simply amazing! My husband and I loved our total experience so much on Friday night that we did it again on Saturday night!!! I had the Jalapeno tamales that was a special and my husband had a bean tostada. My oh my, they were so delicious, I took photos, of course, that is always an after thought, so hopefully our dishes are still recognizable, next night we shared a veggies fajita, that was absolutely delicious! We had leftovers both nights which turned out to be a perfect breakfast for me! I have to say that my leftovers were So WAY, WAY, BETTER than the continental breakfast from the hotel!!!! Thank you so much to the entire staff at La Casita de Cortez for the fantastic experience and the absolute deliciousness that comes out of your kitchen and bar. It's such a fabulous change of pace to see beautiful people working together, taking pride in their place of business, and obviously enjoying it all!!!! I give u all 10 stars!!!! Querida, U R truly a shining STAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!

We asked five different people to name their favorite Mexican restaurant in Cortez and we heard five different answers. La Casita is in a remodeled house and touts homemade food and good margaritas, plus it was the last recommendation we received, so we thought we’d give it a shot. I had a combo plate with an enchilada, burrito, and chile relleno and my partner had carne asada. In addition, I had a jalapeño margarita. Mexican cuisine is a tricky area in which to stand out, and La Casita does so in a couple ways: Excellent service from entrance to exit. Quick, friendly, efficient. Best chile relleno I’ve ever had, hands down. Crispy finish with melt-in-your-mouth pepper and the right balance of cheese and sauce. Smooth and well seasoned guacamole with really good salsa. The asada, enchilada, and margarita were good, but not remarkable. The burrito was unremarkable and I would not order it again. Just some seasoned meat in a tortilla. Although I enjoyed my margarita, it tasted a little off, like it needed something. When asked, our server said it was a skinny margarita with jalapeño. I did not ask for a skinny, so that threw me, but it was good, not great, and I drank it. We noted the huge patio and imagined going back in cooler weather.

Passing through town. Wife saw this place on Google Maps, checked out the pictures, and knew this was the place for dinner. I ordered wings and side salad. They were okay. The bean dip seemed powered and bland like a lot of other Mexican restaurants. I liked the salsa, reminded me of my own but wife didn't care for it. She doesn't like mine either. She ordered the nachos. She want a fan. Started if we came through again we wouldn't go there. All this deserves a three star.

They lose the third star in service. Her nachos came out a good two minutes before my order but her order wasn't complete. It was supposed to have a side of red and green salsa, but they didn't put it on it. When they brought her nachos they rooms her it would be on the side but was about four minutes before they brought it. When they brought my wings, again two minutes after her order, it didn't have any ranch. After about five minutes I flagged an employee down and asked for ranch. She brought it a couple minutes later. By this time my hot wings were no longer hot. But there's more. I never received my salad until about ten minutes after I received my wings. I wasn't going to say anything and just forget it but they actually brought it out.

Yeah,I wouldn't go...
