Super fun and nostalgic drive in! I've been told it's one of the oldest restaurants in Cortez. When you pull in you can pull into a numbered slot. Or you can park and walk up to the few tables they have. After pulling in, someone will come to your car (there is no button you push, you just pull in. Someone will come and take your order as soon as possible. Timing is everything. Lol. I went right at noon. It was very busy but my order was taken in a timely fashion. As a rookie visitor I had questions, the car hop/waitress was very friendly and she answered all of my questions without making me feel dumb. I ordered their "shroomster" - mushroom and Swiss burger. A small fry (which felt more like a medium - perfect size for 1 person) and a Dr.Pepper. **note: they take cards and cash It took about 15-20 minutes to get my food - but again it was at noon and I'll say you could tell this was fresh cooked!!! Food was SOOOO YUMMY! I will be eating here again. I was pleasantly surprised that though this was a burger joint drive in ..the food was not overly greasy. I really enjoyed that the mushrooms and onions were freshly cooked and not overcooked. Crinkle cut fries were also done to perfection. Overall...I recommend this location to anyone and will definitely be a repeat customer!!

After a long day exploring Mesa Verde, we stopped here for a bite to eat. It's a old fashion car hop. You sit in your car and someone comes to you to take your order, bring your food, take payment and remove the tray. Being in this area, I ordered the green chili burger with grilled onions. My daughter ordered a hamburger and fries. Our server greeted us right away and took our order. The menu has a great selection, including several different types of breakfast burritos. Prices are reasonable. Food is cooked to order and fresh. My burger was delicious and one of the best I've had in a long time. My daughter's burger was delicious and it came with crinkle fries (which in my opinion are the best). Our server remembered to bring ketchup and fries sauce with our order. She also checked back with us on how are food was. Very attentive! She was busy but never seemed rushed or rushed us. It was mid afternoon and had several cars. It must be a popular local place, good, hot food and service are keeping it on the map. If your in the area and want a good burger at a reasonable price, stop here, you won't be disappointed.

Due to the number of 5-Star reviews, I stopped in today for lunch. It's an Old-Fashioned, Drive-In Burger Joint. The ladies come out, the your order.. and sometime later, bring you food. I saw that the Green Chile Burger, and the Onion Rings were mentioned often in the reviews.. so I ordered the 1/4lb size burger, which is $2 more than the regular. (would hate to see the size of the burger patty on the regular). Obviously 1/4lb before cooking, because the patty was almost non-existent. It was pretty much a salad burger (see photos). The Onion Rings were very good. The burger was $6.29, and small order of Onion Rings was $2.89. ++++ A better value than a garbage burger from McD's, but I was expecting more, and better.

I would love to say that this is the best burger place in town but after my experience tonight, I can say that I am extremely disappointed in not only the hygiene in this place but also the failed customer service by the manager on duty. After ordering, I watched and saw that the cook had no gloves on, the expos had no gloves on, (the people who bag the food) and in fact, the only person in the entire joint who WAS wearing gloves was the dishwasher. I witnessed the cook and the expo touch already prepared food going out the door with their bare hands after touching many other things in the kitchen, once even after touching the money. OH! And then I saw one of the employees LICK THEIR HAND! If you're okay with this sort of thing then I would HIGHLY recommend this place, they really do have great food. When I talked with the manager about my concerns, he laughed at me repeatedly but assured me his place of business was clean and they do wash their hands before cooking, but he would talk to the person who licked their hand. Hygiene is a pretty legitimate concern, particularly in the food industry, and this 'manager', laughed at me for my concerns. Now I ask you, would you be okay with a Subway employee making your sandwich without gloves even if they 'washed their hands' ? I'll leave that up to you, but I for one wouldn't, and I will not be...
