I am not sure how this place is so highly reviewed. It seems to be the spot for the local farm families, so I can only assume there's some nepotism/collusion going on with the reviews.
We came in one day, excited for a little hole in the wall diamond. We ordered the corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy with eggs.
We had asked before ordering if the corned beef was home made or canned and they assured us it was home made. But what came out had to be canned. It looked and tasted canned, with bits of mushy potatoes in that Alpo looking meat, also mixed in with typical hash browns. So I am not sure why you would make home made corned beef hash with two different types of potatoes or how/why you would cook the meat and first batch of potatoes to mush.
The biscuits and gravy weren't bad but also weren't much to write home about. All in all we went from excited to pretty underwelmed really fast.
Within an hour of eating there, we both felt sick and didn't feel right again until later the following day.
Having grown up in a small town, I got the impression this was someone's family diner that all the long time local families support by eating there. So don't...
Read moreFound this place online and decided to try it out. First of all we stood in the entry for about 5 min before even being acknowledged by the waitress. She then seated us and came back I ordered a coffee and she literally bought a cup over with sugar and just walked away. Waited another 7 min to have the other waitress come over and finally take our order and I asked for creamer since I didn’t get any and the first girl was too busy checking on everyone else to come back to make sure we were ready. Food came out quick and it was good I will admit that. But we finished eating took us about 15-20 min and the waitress NEVER came back to make sure we didn’t need anything else even tho there were only about 2 other tables in the restaurant. They checked on everyone else except for us. We finally gave up and went to the counter asked for a box and the check. Honestly the WORST service I ever experienced I will never come back here again. I get taking care of your locals. But at least treat your first timers with the same care. The ONLY thing enjoyable was the food complements...
Read moreNice, small cozy Cafe. They have tables or a bar you can sit at. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Restaurant was nice and clean.
I had the 2 pancakes w/ scrambled eggs, 2 sausage, an order of sourdough bread and a glass of milk. The pancakes were the same size as the plate and it was the largest plate in front of me. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. They even keep their butter close to room temp so it's not all cold and hard and you tear your pancakes while trying to spread the butter which I absolutely loved. Hate getting fridge cold butter. The sausage almost tasted like it was home-made but I don't think it is. Too perfectly shaped for home-made. I couldn't finish everything and have a small box to enjoy at a later time.
Everything seemed to be reasonably priced. My entire meal with the extra side of toast and 2 glasses of milk, milk is charged per cup, came out to $16.50. I would definitely...
