Feeling bubbly at Feng Cha’s cute location in Costa Mesa~
I tried both the coffee milk tea ($5.00) & dirty caffe latte ($5.25). They were both very similar in taste, but the coffee milk tea was a bit sweeter, which I preferred. The dirty caffe latte has brown sugar, so I thought it would be sweeter, but it was actually slightly more bitter. They also have vietnamese coffee & cold brew coffee as part of their new coffee series.
The matcha breeze ($5.75) is a blended drink with a rich matcha flavor. The cheese milk foam adds sweetness, but the overall drink is not very sweet at all. I would probably get this again in the summertime!
The creme brulee dirty boba ($6.15) is one of their popular drinks and it was my favorite one! This one comes with brown sugar boba and a crispy creme brulee layer at the top. I loved the creaminess of the drink as well as the brown sugar flavor. It was also the perfect sweetness for me - probably the sweetest one of all the drinks that I got.
Feng Cha also has 6 different kinds of cakes ($7.00). The cake itself is not flavored and is the same for all, but they have different toppings, like tiramisu, oreo, strawberry, taro chocolate, sea salt pearl, or matcha. I don’t think I was a fan of the sea salt topping, but the boba was really good. I enjoyed the matcha cake more for its subtle matcha flavor.
They have multiple locations in CA & other states. In SoCal, they can be found in OC or San Diego. The OC location has a free parking lot shared with other stores...
Read moreThis place is amazing for its signature best seller drink called Creme brûlée brown sugar boba! I have tried other drinks but they aren’t as special. I would come back again and again just for this drink. The creme brûlée is very fatty delicious and the crust on top is super yummy. The decoration inside is cute as they have very comfy chairs and a huge teddy bear with neon sign in the other corner for cute Instagram posts. The drinks here are made fast and fresh. The only drawbacks they have is the straw for tall drinks are a little short, makes it hard to consume boba. I thought I grabbed the wrong straw but on my later visit, I tried the straws and it was still short. Also, the store locates in a small and crowded complex with a lot of good restaurants; therefore, finding a parking can be hard. Go here with a friend to drop you off to order is the best deal in case you can’t find a parking spot. However, their creme brûlée drink is so good that it overcomes the drawbacks.
Highlights of the menu: Creme brûlée brown sugar milk tea (highly recommended!) Oreo milk tea
Don’t recommend: Purple reign (looks good but tastes no good)
Occasionally, there are events held in the store. It was fun and attracted lots of people to the store. It was Doe event when I visited that they have cute products and also have their branded cute cup holder...
Read moreSo I conveniently ended up here trying to pick up my ramen order... and it was their soft opening. Ordered oolong milk tea and bursting dragonfruit after hearing all the options.
It took a lil bit to get the order after a mixup in the order but got my drinks in the end. 75% sweet was probably the right choice for the dragonfruit tea. It was sweet enough but not overly sweet. Could go down to 50% depending on how much of a sugar loaded day I have.
Oolong milk tea was pretty good with strong tea notes at 50% sugar. Solid choice if u want milk tea.
Two things though:
Kinda small? Cup itself is one of those round short cups and I don’t think it fits that much. And the large seems like it’s a tall narrow cup?
The straws have flat ends for some reason
I’ll probably be back to try some of their other stuff. I’m gonna presume they’ll have online ordering in the near future (not sure if they already do). Almost gave 4 stars due to the size but they gave 10% off for the...
