Aparrotly, @greencheekbeer has a kitchen in some of their locations - Costa Mesa specifically - and I had no idea because I’ve only been to the one in Orange.
@greencheekbeercostamesa not only has a good, simple, no frills solid smash burger, they have a ton of stuff on their menu. I got a Greek salad in an attempt to be healthy, but ate the on top of the “less healthy” because it was all very tempting. I’m not usually a wings person, but they have these lime-infused bbq wings that are so saucy and delicious I couldn’t stop eating them. They also have an out of the world lavender lemonade seltzer that I could dangerously drink all day. To top it off, they were hosting a paint night hosted by @_CraftAndArts, and it was not your average paint night. We painted on wooden boards and delved into the philosophy of what art means to us and how we relate to the world in it. We had a fun talk beforehand, and homie Brough TONS of different mediums to create with - paint, nails, stencils, crayons, old beautiful copies of drawings that a Green Cheek employees grandma made that we could copy or incorporate into our art - it’s a cool experience. Have you been here? Special shoutout to Green Cheek photographer @james_dean_official as well. . . #orangecounty #costamesa #wings #smashburger #explore #thingstodooc #chicken

Went there for my 21st birthday, with my family and my girlfriend. Some of their cashiers were nice and patient. Since it was my first time eating there, I didn't know what "keeping the tab open" meant. However, I remember there was this one young lady that gave us a hard time, we didn't know that the "non-alcoholic" part of the menu was not for kids, and no one told us that. She called her manager over and threatened to kick us out when my sister was holding the drink. My mother was pissed, but since it was my birthday I managed to calm her down. I ordered an orange soda for her instead, double checked that she can drink it 😮‍💨 I hope we were told clearly ahead of time that "non-alcoholic" section were also for adults, I mean my sister was right there when we ordered the drink. The food was okay, the smash burger was a little bit too dry and the fries were a little too wet. We also ordered garlic parmesan flavored chicken wings, honestly they were blend. I asked for extra seasoning the second time but it was still very blend, and it was literally raw inside! Be aware and check if it had blood/was pinkish red near the bone! Luckily the manager gave us another plate that was cooked. (Still blend 😂 please be more generous with the seasoning!) Unfortunately they didn't have the drink we wanted (the smoothie one, forgot the name). We went there at 5pm, I don't know how they ran out that fast. Also please be more aware of your own inventory as we waited for a couple minutes and was told that they were out. The lavender lemonade they recommended was so light, it literally tastes like water. I liked the grapefruit flavored one, it was pretty good. The environment felt family friendly, so it's a pretty good place to throw a party for things like gender reveal (we ran into one today, the baby turned out to be a girl 😊). I doubt if I'll ever visit again, I know that weekend might be busy but I hope the servers had better attitudes towards the customer.

First time at this gem of a brewery right in the middle of Costa Mesa at the boarder with Newport and Irvine. It’s a nice brewery with expansive beer garden outside. Your order your foods and beers at the counter and you get a pager. I tried their smash burger, chicken club and fried chicken sandwich. Smash burger is fairly small and i finished it in two bites. The chicken bribers are larger. I recommend the fried chicken burger over the club as it was very tasty. You can get fries or salad with you sandwich or upgrade to tots. Expansive menu of beers, hard seltzer and a few wine options. A pitcher of beer is $25. Sandwiches are $14-16. It was super packed on Saturday night at 7 with the line to order out the door, but it moves fairly fast. Highly recommended and will visit again.

Have been to this place a couple of times over the past 2 years and my experience for the most part was very pleasant it was a nice chill place to go hang out, have a couple of beers with my husband and the bonus was that it's kid friendly. However, the past 3 times that I've gone this same employee a short, older, blonde woman with glasses has been very rude. The first two incidents were not enough to turn me off from the place because myself and my friends are very understanding. The first incident was I invited a couple friends over to have some beers and one of them began to vape this lady came out and with an attitude told my friend he had to either put the vape away or leave, he apologized and said he didn't know and she very rudely and with an attitude said "there's like signs everywhere" she pointed at a wall with no sign and we just all apologized and went on with our day. The second incident was myself and a couple of friends went over to celebrate a friends going away party, everything was fine then two guys drank some shots that they brought from outside and left them on the table the same woman with glasses came out yelled at us and said "you're not allowed to do this, you guys only get one warning" we apologized and reprimanded our two friends who brought outside shots (they are foreign so they didnt know and we also didnt see them drink it.) 5 minutes later one of the guys at our table goes to grab a beer and the staff tells us you guys are done please wrap up and go. We were completely blind sided and asked why are we being cut off and the lady at the bar super nice young lady explained to us that someone brought outside alcohol so we took told her yes but she said you get one warning and after that there was no more funny business. She just said "I'm sorry I was told to cut you off because apparently you were given multiple warnings and didn't stop." A complete lie, but we were all very understanding. As I mentioned before the first two incidents, I did not hold it against this place because it was kind of our fault the employee could've been a little nicer with her delivery but whatever. Now, on Sunday, Feb 23, I was a complete bystander, but this incident was enough to send me running for the hills with this place! My husband and I were there with my kid and a couple of friends with kids and we were there drinking having a good time when all of a sudden the same employee is hovering over a table of men and speaking with an attitude i quietly whispered to my husband "uh their she goes with the same old attitude" the guys get up and leave and as I was in line getting a beer one of the guys that wasn't at the table when she kicked them out decided to ask her why the whole table was being kicked out and she claimed that one of the guys at the table hovered over her and was trying to intimate her, she claimed it was so bad she threatened the men to leave or she would call the cops. No such thing happened. I was completely disgusted that I left the line and told the man who had questioned her that I was there and no such thing happened. I am completely appalled by this woman's lies about something so serious that I will not be returning until I know that she has...

As Costa Mesa locals, I never like leaving fewer than 5 stars, but I gotta be honest. Great beer (esp the michelada, IYKYK) and food options (great smash burger and love the battered fries). Outside seating is a great atmosphere with tons of tables.

My only gripe is that in the 5+ times we've been here, I don't think we've ever been treated super well by staff. (And if you're wondering, we are very easy-going patrons. It's a fair question to ask if we are intolerable jerks who complain or send things back constantly, but can confirm, we are chill and kind people) Most recently we went to celebrate a friend and I wondered if we had arrived after they had already closed or something, because the counter staff seemed genuinely bothered by us approaching to order. It was not even close to closing time. It was kinda weird to be honest; there were no smiles or eye contact, no greeting beyond "I can help who's next." Just not the friendly, welcoming vibe you'd expect from people working in an objectively cool and tasty place.

Last note: maybe this is too much speculation for a Google review, but I have heard of breweries keeping all tips for the house rather than distributing to the individual servers. I wonder if that is the case here, which would remove any incentive for the service staff to be sincere or thorough in their interactions. Just a thought and maybe next time I'm in, I'll ask. Because I know we will go again :) Beer is too good and location is too...
