One of the best burger places of all time. And one higjligjt- I will say for certain that this place makes the best cregular French fires in the world-class going their for their fries alone is a common thing amongst many people I know who eat there. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality and freshness- it's actually more to get comparable burgers at chains like Carl's Jr!Formerly Wedge buger was known for many many years (like 15 or 20) as "E-Z-Takeout Burger"- this is basically the world's best rip-off of the style of burger that In-n-out burger basically popularized and made famous and I have to say, though I love in-n-out burger(except for their fries which are terrible in my and many local people's opinion) and I consider In n out absolutely awome for burgers but I actually think thigh so very similar (their original core menu was very similar to in n outs in it's design with just a few more options (they even had the option on their burgers and still do to get it the same way in n out does "animal style" with their burgers EZ/wedge has the option to order "Wild Thing" style for the grilled onions, mustard and sauce. When the switched to wedge they changed the name to "the works" and it's still available at no charge. This may be why they changed their name because of it's resembalance to the lay out of In-n-out - I am fairly certain it is still the same owner as you see the older gentalman working in the restaurant from time to time.) expanded it, and also added a large breakfast menu and things suck as onion rings, veggie burgers, chicken breast strips, chili cheese fries and burgers amoungst other things. It's nice that being used to it being ez takout for so many years I still automatically and unconsciously use the original names for the food like I mentionwd how they used to have "wild thing style" and it's notw called "the works" well other things on the menu changed names as well such as their version of in n out's double double - double cheeseburger was called a "double-take" (three meats was a "triple take" and four was called a "grand slam") and now their double cheeseburger is simply The "double wedge burger" albut regardless of what name I call it the employees always know what you mean. There is a reason this place is always busy pretty much (though it does have a double drive thru and waits generally seem to be less than in n outs in the area buy a couple mins). It is definitely a local favorite spot to go. for Newport Beach...
Read moreI just want to say my family and I go here all the time. We love the food. The last encounter we had though is the cause for this review. We came through the drive though on 11/4/23 around 5:40pm and ordered. The lady (Vanessa I believe) was taking the order and would barely let me finish before saying “is that all”. After we ordered instead of repeating our order goes “okay so you got like 5 burgers right?”. Okay fine not a big deal not everyone loves their job. Then we pull up to the window and realized my wife didn’t get her order in because we honestly felt rushed. So at the window I asked to add on a crispy chicken sandwich. They gentlemen says fine and takes the payment. We get home and there’s no crispy chicken and 2 other messed up burgers. My wife being disappointed on not getting her food goes to get what she paid for and wanted. When she comes home to eat my wife realizes they gave her the wrong item. No worries still. I call to ask for a refund and speak with a gentleman who I can hear ask if they can refund who then passes me off to the girl (who I believe Vanessa or a similar name). She preceded to tell me they don’t do refunds and told me I could come back in to get it. We were not going to waste anymore of our time. Then I asked “not even when you messed up twice?” She said “no”. I then asked if this was Vanessa and she hung the phone up on me. I called back and they wouldn’t pick up my call. All I wanted was a refund on a 6 dollar sandwich that we never received. I own a business and if my employees displayed this kind of service I wouldn’t want them there. We will definitely be back because we love this place and have had only great experiences here aside from this one but this was unfortunately...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I have been going here as an in and out alternative, same price but shorter lines. Our 1st time there 2 months ago was really good experience, hot fresh food, and same price as in and out without the wait But the last 3 experience's there have been not as good and we noticed now they have zero lines in the drive thru. Our last trip there on Friday was the worst. We got barely warm, stale fries, not a big deal I said, I just went to the window, ask for fresh fries. The lady grabbed my bag, not a word, and when I saw the guy inside put new batch of fries in, I assumed they would give me back fresh , hot fries. Nope, got the bag back and they were literally the exact same fries warmed up, still not hot, still stale, definitely not fresh.
This is my very 1st review for anything, ever, that's how bummed out I was.it was the principal of the situation. I'm not asking for much when it comes to fast food, but that was a slap in the face when they rather reheat my fries instead of just giving me fresh ones that they just made. Just so you guys know, 90% of people choose burger joints based off their fries. Now we know why there is no line in...
