Tacos in which the numerous artistic elements play an even greater role to your taste buds. My favorite taco so far is the curry dusted chicken. I find the complex, savory flavor to be quite impressive for a taco. The chicken is seasoned to perfection, and as tender as it gets. The other ingredients act as a beautiful structure built on a foundation of chicken prepared to perfection. I guarantee you’ve never tasted anything like it before, regardless of what other taco joints you’ve visited. The other taco I had recently was the peppered ribeye steak, in which the steak has similar traits to the chicken mentioned above regarding quality. As someone who loves beef, I can say with confidence that the steak in this taco was not only tender, but some of the most flavorful steak I’ve had in a long time.

My only piece of advice is:

When you order tortillas and queso and accidentally fill yourself up a little too much before getting the tacos (as the queso is 10/10) , if you know you can’t finish, don’t get caught filling up on one taco without trying the other too!

Salt and Lime started as a vision, and that vision is now a reality due to the unequivocal passion I believe the Chef has for his restaurant and quality food. Passion like this is not easily replicated and makes itself evident with every sip or bite.

10/10 would recommend, it’s not the cheapest but the quality...

This is an edit to my first review. We came here with our Labrador to eat outside. It was just as good as the first time. My husband said it has become his favorite restaurant. Our dog again loved the doggie bowl of chicken, carrots and sweet potatoes. My favorite is still the poke nachos. My husband loved the octopus taco still, and also really liked the steak tacos with the blue corn tortillas. I had the citrus margarita and he had the homemade lemonade too. All excellent. We'll be returning.

My first time checking out Salt & Lime, and decided to go by for take out. I was not disappointed and neither was my husband or our Labrador. It was excellent. We had a shrimp taco and one of their new octopus tacos both on their house-made blue corn tortillas... so very good. My husband said it was the best octopus taco he had ever had in the states. We also had the poke nachos and OMG the sauce was amazing. All three a must have, and the cranberry margarita delicious. A bit of spice to it and I loved it. Our dog... I ordered their chicken and sweet potato doggie bowl for him(which was a great price) and mixed it in his kibble when I arrived home and he cleaned his bowl. He is picky but he ate it all. So the entire few family was happy. Next time we'll go...

Salt and Lime was absolutely delicious. The combination of flavors in each taco shows how much the chef thinks about a person's experience as they take each bite. I had the grilled salmon taco, the braised short rib taco, and the peppered ribeye taco. The grilled salmon was grilled to perfection with a sauce that brought the whole taco together. The pickled Fresno chilis and fried avocado slice brought this taco to the next level. The ribeye taco included another delicious sauce with pickled shallots that brought a delicious acidic bite and a shishito pepper that made this girl into a shishito lover. The short rib taco had this delicious short rib that melted in your mouth with pickled onions, a horseradish sauce, and peppery arugula. What made this taco even better was the crispy potato on top. It made this carb love happy as can be. The margaritas were also fantastic! My personal favorite out of the two I tried was the blood orange with a salt rim. I will definitely be coming back next time I find myself in the Costa Mesa area and will definitely recommend this to anyone one I know heading over...

This is one of my favorite tacos in Orange County. They use premium ingredients like local halibut and wagyu ribeye or giant bone marrow but charge fast casual prices. I pick up from here twice a week. Dresscode is whatever. That’s the point of fast casual. Where a bathrobe and Crocs if you want. But also! They have a full bar so don’t not hit this spot on a Friday night. They use Nosotros in a bunch of cocktails including two frozen drinks which are my favorite no matter what season. If you get a frozen drink and ask for a mezcal floater and tell them Niko from Nosotros sent you. Video by Poolside Agency @drink with us

OC Restaurant Week 🍽️ 📍Salt and Lime Taqueria, Costa Mesa Got to try Salt & Lime Modern Taqueria as part of OC Restaurant week. Food: 4/5 + $35 Dinn special (guac/chips starter, Citrus Chipotle Shrimp & Slow Braised Short Rib entree, churro sundae) + Happy hour tacos: Crispy Chicken Tender, Charred Sweet Potato + Peppered Ribeye Steak We opted to try the $35 dinner special with several happy hour tacos to share. Starting off, the chips and dip appetizer set up the meal, with freshly made guac and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips that perfectly paired. The chips were so good that I ended up asking the server where they were from, only to find out they were baked in house. When I ordered the tacos I was initially first skeptical about the price but quickly found out why the prices were set when our entree came out. I totally didn't expect the tacos to be THAT big, filled to the brim with condiments, garnishes, and meat. My personal favorites were the Crunchy Chicken Tender and Slow Braised Short Rib - both of them which had a modern unique twist to what you would traditionally consider for a taco. For example, the Crunchy Chicken tender had your standard lettuce garnishes but had a sweet syrup sauce that made biting into the fried chicken piece so divine. Definitely these tacos are an experience to have! (Although personally, I would want a small taco and see if maybe they can provide a sampler meal for those who maybe are unsure about committing to a giant taco.) Service: 4/5 Service is quick, efficient, and friendly! It was my first time visiting and my server kindly recommended me his personal favorites not only regarding specific tacos but also which tortillas to pair them with. Seating is ample and clean with plenty of booths on the first floor, outside on the front patio, and additional seating on another level. Ambience is also terrific for a date/hang out spot with modern, fun music to boot. Although Salt & Lime shares company with other busy restaurants/bar, I didn't have any trouble with parking in the back lot. Overall, I can definitely see Salt & Lime as a great happy hour spot to catch up over drinks and music and would love to come back and try more! #ocrestaurants #tacos #orangecounty #happyhour #ocfoodie
