Keratin Lab — Local services in Costa Mesa

Wow I am truly shocked about the negative customer experience I just had. I have been going to Keratin Lab for over a year, and have referred at least 5 friends to become regulars there as well. I came here because it's a good manicure and nice to have a guaranteed appointment time. However, I've always been so annoyed by how rude the owner is. She constantly speaks negatively about her clients, usually right after they leave. Really makes you wonder what she says about you as soon as you get up. Her employees seem over worked and rushed, and I really hand it to them that they do such a good job despite the environment. Many of them have told me they don't get breaks or time for lunch.

I had an appointment at 12 today before heading out of town tomorrow morning. My nanny cancelled on me with no notice after testing positive for COVID. I have a toddler at home that would not do well at the salon while my nails are getting done. Instead of being understanding and seeing the likely thousands of dollars I've spent (and would spend in the future), still charged me a no show fee. So much for loyalty and grace for a regular customer, especially one with a young child at home. Keratin Lab always does a great job on my nails and is priced so reasonable for the treatment and quality. They really take the time to prep your nails and the polish. Every time I have gone I’ve gotten a gel manicure. One of my manicures lasted 2 months without a single chip in the nails. I’ve gotten designs as well and my nails have always looked good. I have only ever had one problem with my nails and that was that the polish set funny but I called in and they were so kind about it and wanted to get me into fix it free of charge. Since moving to OC from LA, it’s been a challenge trying to find a place that does really good nail art. Some places are a bit old fashioned in terms of style, some don’t seem to get the shaping or consistency right. I was really impressed with keratin lab. They did the shape I loved, I didn’t have to give any feedback for changes. It’s almost 5 weeks now and my acrylics still look great.
