My friends and I visited The Country Club for brunch today, and while the atmosphere is fun and charming, our experience was unfortunately marred by poor service. The drinks were great, and I’ve always enjoyed my previous visits here, which is why I chose it for today’s outing. However, this time was different.
When we first sat down, our server, Frances, greeted us and asked if we wanted drinks. I mentioned I would look at the menu and decide. After that, her demeanor became dismissive and rude towards me and my friends. Unfortunately, we encountered several uncomfortable moments during our meal that I have never experienced at this establishment before.
One of the most upsetting comments came when Frances referred to my friend, who uses her hands to talk, as having "happy hands" — a remark that felt unnecessary and insensitive. Later, when we asked her to take a photo of us, she responded, “I’m sick, are you sure you want me touching your phone?” My friend said it was fine, and she replied with a sarcastic “very good.” This type of attitude continued throughout our visit, and it was disheartening.
If Frances was truly feeling unwell, it was puzzling that she was still working and handling our drinks. The final issue came when we asked to split the check three ways. When she returned to collect the payment, she didn’t acknowledge my friend’s request at all and simply took our cards without a word. To make matters worse, she accidentally charged my card twice. I immediately requested to speak to the manager, who was understanding and assured me he would address the situation with Frances after her shift.
I truly hope Frances learns the importance of good customer service because her behavior today was inexcusable and completely uncalled for. It’s unfortunate because I’ve always enjoyed The Country Club, but after this experience, I’m...
Read moreI went to The Country Club in Costa Mesa last night , trying to celebrate my birthday and my friends bday as well . We arrived in line at 10:40 pm and we were in 3rd place (there was only 3 people in front of us) . We were told that if we pay $20 each we could skip the line and we asked how long would be the waiting if we don't want to pay and they informed us it would be 40 minutes. After 1 1/2 hours of waiting in "line" with no lucky , tons of people walking out from inside of the bar and no one getting in unless paying their $20 vip fee. We've asked many times to the hosts and securities and the answer was " if you pay you can get in now" . I left at 12:30 am when they hold us to wait 40 more minutes !! This was after almost 2 hours of waiting outside, in the cold late night. I left without getting in, done with all the stress and disrespect . We felt it as an abuse. We were given false information about the waiting time. They kept us there all night to pretend there was a line when we were the only ones there. whoever would arrive new in line their hosts or securitirá would come and offer them $20 fee to get in fast and people paid because if they asked us about the waiting we would say it was VERY LONG since only got us it was . Very Bad business practices! If we new paying was MANDATORY in order to get in we would had done it since the beginning or we would had a choice of going somewhere else! but we were lied to and used to make the bar looks good for whoever drives by. We were 7 girls in line... they ruined our birthdays celebration . I would never step on this place again Or recommend it to anyone !!! Worst...
