Tried Bemo’s after many years ago not enjoying it and after a guy from work, who I thought was a trusted (past-tense) foodie as we are. Knowing Cottleville gets busy, we were able to sit outside right away because others were avoiding the heat. Hostess was nice, waitress got to us quick, and we put in our drink orders. Good so far. Ordered Canneloni bites as an appetizer, seared Salmon with a pasta and spinach, and Chicken Marsala, as it is one of my favorites and not a dish you can get everywhere. Canneloni bites seem prepared in house and tomato sauce served with it was really nice. The bites were cover in a tasteless provel/blend cheese or something and didn’t enhance the dish at all. A good Parmesan would have been much better and give a saltiness to the slightly sweet of the tomatoes sauce. The seared Salmon didn’t look much seared and the kitchen forgot the spinach. A slight dab of pesto was on top and though my wife said it was okay, she said it wasn’t a dish she would crazy about and wished they would have included the spinach as the menu described. Maybe it would have been better. The chicken Marsala was sloppy! The table next to us had ordered it and received theirs before mine and from 12’ it looked prepared correctly. The chicken breast was patted thinner, browned, and with a thicker Marsala sauce with mushrooms. Mine on the other hand was lightly browned, chicken was overcooked (doesn’t make sense since the coating was barely browned) Marsala sauce was runny and no had Marsala flavor. Thought maybe they poorly drained the Brussel sprouts and created a watery slop. Food runners did a good job of getting food out, pre-bussing was done consistently by employees, and everyone was pleasant. Overall we spent $42.50 per person (2)
Hey we wanted to try something new, tried it, and just isn’t the right...
Read moreBeemos is an amazing restaurant as are all the employees & management team. We had my daughters wedding shower here on 1/19 for approx 40 ladies. They had an amazing selection and presentation of lunch. Servers were extremely attentive to the shower guests. On a personal note, I have food allergies that causes me to go into anaphylaxis shock. They went out of there way to talk to me personally on the phone prior to the day of the shower to ensure my safety. They arranged for special cooked meal that accommodated the safety preperation of my meal, new utensils, pans, gloves, etc. I'm deathly allergic to onion & garlic by mouth & airborne which limits my not only where I can eat but what I can eat. As you can imagine I don't eat out very often because my reaction is so severe.
Not many restaurants will serve me much less take my allergies seriously. There are increasing amount of people out there with severe food allergies that are in the same position I am, which is not being able to eat out. It helps to know there is an excellent restaurant, Bemo's.
Bemo's has: great food, service, presentation, a private room to reserve for parties, very relaxing atmosphere, clean, catering, wheel chair accessible, sports bar, reasonable prices, close in proximity, and so many other things.
Bemo's, you definitely accommodated and far exceeded all our wishes. Thanks again, you made my daughter Amanda's wedding...
Read moreTonight was my second visit to this restaurant. Both times were pretty good, although as you can see from the picture this stuff is GREASY. We could definitely tone down the grease levels in here for sure. Grease aside, everything was very flavorful, great use of garlic and savory flavors. As you see in the photos I have the Cajun style shrimp and grits, a classic favorite that I always love. This place does it well! Flavors were comforting and had that good, down-to-earth comfort food feeling. This dish did not come with a side but I got the Brussels sprouts, which were a delightful addition. My companion and I also had Portabella mushrooms for an appetizer, which I did not get a picture of. They were very delicious, a very unique and different kind of appetizer you wouldn’t normally see around town. Topped it off with a pomegranate martini which was a lot more basic (flavor-wise) than I was expecting, and I definitely missed a garnish on it! Would’ve been really beautiful with perhaps a lemon twist. Anything, really. Due to the greasy nature of the food I will have to give only four stars for now, however everything else was very good and I would not count out at third visit...
