Dairy Queen — Restaurant in Council Bluffs

My daughters never been to Dairy Queen before I wanted to surprise her with being able to choose her own toppings and try something new because she only chose one flavor which is cotton candy. Went there already knowing what we wanted from the menu online we were told that they were privately owned so anything online is not referred to them. Irritated with the way and the tone of the woman's voice tried to shrug it off and just ordered two chicken basket one with onion rings one with fries. When we got her order there was no onion rings it was just two orders with fries. The fries were overly cooked and what tasted like really old grease can't seem to get the taste out of my mouth. Decided to skip the chicken baskets and order my daughter some ice cream. She already picked out that she wanted vanilla ice cream with M &M topping. We were told that she could only put sprinkles on her ice cream that the Eminem's were for blizzard only. Mind you the woman had a tone of irritation in the way that she talked. We decided to leave because it did not make any sense to me that she would just let us sail go what you cannot skip step number three you can't just put vanilla ice cream in a cup with M&Ms on it and just skip mixing them together are you kidding me. I probably would have even accepted if she offered that she would charge me for a blizzard if I got a small Blizzard and just skipped step number three but the whole ordeal was becoming very miserable and I wanted my daughter to have a good time so we left and got ice cream somewhere else. Good lord this was a nightmare. Even if they are the only ones left with the good fries. So started off by waiting 25mins for a chicken strip basket and grilled cheese. We tried to be understanding cause they warned us it was shift change and we said it's okay. Then after 25 mins we were told there was an issue with the first grilled cheese so pull forward and they will make it again. We did. 10 mins later we get it. Well it was no grilled cheese. It was two cold pieces of bread with 4 slices of unmelted cheese. We were heading back home so there was no way to go back and get a 3rd one. So I called and ask to be refunded for the kids meal. The manager proceeded to argue that I was lying cause she watched it get made. When I asked if she wanted a picture she claimed I was threatening her. So I handed the phone off to my husband to handle cause I was dumbfounded. She then proceeded to tell my husband I threatened her and that I don't understand everyone is human and some very unkind things that also dumbfounded my husband. He gave her receipt information to get a refund and she just went on and on about how his wife is awful(making a show for whoever was around) and how she was going to call the police about it.... I doubt we will see a refund but damn... that was an event. Also if anyone wants a picture we got it. My husband was beside himself...

We live three hours out of town and I wanted an ice cream cake as a surprise for our daughter's birthday so I looked online and found what I wanted - Choco Brownie Extreme Blizzard Cake. I called this DQ because it is closest to our daughter's house. I spoke to a very nice young lady who even went online to see what I wanted. Even though they do not do online orders she told me that they could make it because they have all the ingredients. So I ordered an 8 inch cake for pickup two days later.

When I saw what they had made I was very upset! First, it was 10 inches not 8 and they charged me the higher price even though I complained. Second, it looked nothing at all like the cake I had ordered! It was barely an inch and a half tall and had no decorative edging or brownies on top. It looked like a very poorly frosted cake. When I questioned how it looked all they said was that they do not do online orders even when I told them that I had called the order in. Third, when we cut the cake the bottom layer was so thin it was barely there, the crunch layer in the middle was also very thin and there were very few brownie bits in the top layer. I was extremely disappointed.

Their attitude was one of indifference. They didn't care if I got what I ordered and ultimately paid way too much for. I will NEVER go to...
