New China Star Buffet — Restaurant in Covington

The food was just okay. The meat seems like they use the scraps from what they have. Very fatty and kind of gross. The chicken was dried out, the sweet and sour chicken kind, that is. The sushi was literally like rubber. I didn't think it was going to chew down, it was worse than any other sushi I've had. I thought we'd be safe considering we went at the prime time of the day for fresh food, but apparently not. I will say though, the Mongolian pork would have and amazing flavor if the meat wasn't so fatty. Same with the black pepper chicken. I think they'd be a lot more successful if they would just spend a tad bit more money to make better quality food. Their food is literally almost there as far as flavor, it's just the quality of everything that ruins it. I believe that's why Ming's is so much more successful. Food is always just luke warm(the middle buffet especially ) Ive made comments but all they did was check the temp, the last visit, we encountered 4 young adults seating at a table , trying to hide a full grown dog under the table while they were eating. We made a comment to the manager and they claimed they had no clue it was even there because there always on the phone, not paying attention etc. We asked them to remove the animal because , its an open buffet food bar,. They claim it was a service dog ,which was far from the truth. Leave your pets at home, or in a vented vehicle, not under a indoor restaurant table . People are allergic, etc . Great service, clean environment and a new type of music I've never heard but it was indeed different. I would g Reccomend this place to anyone that likes Chinese food, no American that I am aware of but that doesn't mean not to go. Staff was nice and family oriented.
