Pappy & Jimmies — Restaurant in Covington

The service was extremely rude, racist and horrible. My husband and I were left with menu's. But it took them over thirty five minutes for someone to come and take our drink order. We were the only two African american people in the restaurant other than the cooks, so I'm assuming that's why the service was so HORRIBLE. But that didn't stop then from waiting on at least four different sets of people that came in after us, who immediately was shown a menu and received drink orders within five minutes. Then finally a waiter came over to take our drink order, he came back after about ten minutes with a cup of water and sweet tea. He told us that someone would be with us shortly. But that never happened, after twenty more minutes we finally got up and left. We were going to sit there just to see how much longer it take, but decided it wasn't worth it. If I could give it a negative five, I would. Incredibly rude and racist...

I ordered a “cheeseburger” and when it came out I noticed it wasn’t the same meat as the “hamburger steak” that the waiter told us. It was processed meat that came out of a box!! We never got checked on after food was dropped off. When I told waiter why I didn’t like it, he went and got the old man and he proceeds to tell me that they are both 100% real Angus Beef. Complete lie.. you could clearly see the difference in texture and size! And still had to pay for it! Horrible...

This was my first time having dinner here. It was a lot of food and delicious! I had the country fried steak with white gravy, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, Mac and cheese and a delicious dinner roll. I wanted to try the peach cobbler that the friendly other diners recommended, but I couldn't even eat all my food and had to get a to go box. I'll try it next time with coffee. I highly recommend trying this place! I'll be back for sure. Five stars for a job...
