It has been a while since I have been to this place. Honestly, years ago it was a hit or miss situation for me. I remember liking the food for the most part. The Man and I wanted different & ended up giving them a try. We had the best waitress. Yet, let me start by saying the place was packed with people waiting. That to me is normally a good sign that the food is good or at least reasonable. As inflation hits, it becomes more about saving your pennies than leaving that 20%+ for table service. And yes, the bill was higher than expected.💰
We got fried pickles as an appy… OMG. I am NOT a pickle fan. I don’t care if its dressed in the best sauce & does the Can Can… I don’t like the crunchy feel. But I loved these ! Very heavy breading that insulated the clipped pickle to where it was quite pleasant!
The Man wound up with both spaghetti and chicken parm. He was piled up with the garlic cheezy bread that happened along too. We thought we would get the bread with the pickles but no.. so if you do order the bread as an appy, tell the waitstaff. I got a hot ham and cheese. Some days, I have a basic feel for food & that night was no exception. Served hot with melted cheese on lettuce, was very good. I had asked for it to be without onions and tomatoes🍅🧅. There was a moment that the I thought my request had gone unheeded. No, there were no Karen Fits from me. I don’t do that. I asked the server who immediately saw my expression and advised she told them no onions. I scraped the translucent substance in the cheese and found it to be lettuce ! So very happy about that ! Yes, the sub was delish.
What I think about the place is that there are a lot of booths at the front which can be uncomfortable for those with a disability or a size issue. It probably made sense during Covid…The server was on point and just really fun. Food was very good.. But you will pay for those things.. don’t...
Read moreI usually steer away from giving bad reviews, unless a place is just awful! Hopefully someone will read and skip this place. We went in on Monday at 5:00PM to grab a quick dinner, before seeing the Christmas lights. We(6 of us) quickly placed our orders and then the wait started. There were only 4 other tables seated. 2 - 2 Tops and 2 - 4 tops. 2 kids cheeseburgers, which we asked to be brought at as soon as they were ready, so the kids could start eating. After 35 minutes, I asked for our salads! The waitress looked miffed, but sent someone out with our 4 salads after another 8-10 minutes wait. Salads were mediocre. 2 minutes later our dinners showed up. Gyro meat was way overcooked. When I picked it up, it held it's folded shape, like an upside down slipper. The lasagna was terrible and the noodles for the spaghetti were large and soggy, like they had been sitting in the water for the entire day. The hamburger meat for the cheeseburgers had a grayish tint to them. So, the kids ate fries. It was a terrible experience. The only good thing was the fried okra and fried squash. I could add so much more, like the waitress not asking what sides we wanted or what dressings on the salad, etc. Not once during the 35 minute wait, did she come by and update us. We use to eat here all the time 3+ years ago. Things have really gone down hill and it appears that the staff doesn't care about the food, the customers or the cleanliness. Oh yeah. The men's rest room had no paper towels, the floors were very dirty, including excrement that had falling out of a diaper on to the floor. I know that is a customer issue, but, staff should be checking on the bathrooms to insure a clean environment. Last three inspection grades - 96, 94, 92. Guessing this place will be a B Graded...
Read moreTook my family here tonight for dinner and was very disappointed with how the experience turned out. Firstly, my “salad” or plate of wilted lettuce rather was unpleasant and should have never left the kitchen. Secondly the “broiled flounder” i ordered was 4 pieces of obviously frozen tilapia they brought me were luke warm at best and strangely wet for fish like they were frozen right before they were cooked and was tasteless unless you count the heap of seasoning they used to cover it with. My “fried squash” were like potato chips with no salt or flavor and tasted like old oil. Our server who didn’t even introduce herself not once checked on us besides the one refill of tea I got. From my experience paying upwards of 15$ a plate someone usually asks how your food is or if you need anything else. So after sliding my plate to the end of the table and watching our server shoot back and forth past us not even looking our way the entire meal she finally ask if we need boxes which we ask for 2 neither of which are for myself and she still refused to address it I dispute the charge for just my meal with the head waitress calmly and she rudely asks if I sent it back and after telling her I never got the chance due to an ignorant waitress she tells me that she isn’t going to take the full price of just my plate off because I should have been the one to engage with the server and send it back.... when it’s 40$ for three people to eat..
P.S they charge for refills because they obviously don’t make enough...
