I hate doing this because I have came to this location since I was a h s school student me and my friends use to bunk and come here to eat because it was ranked one of the best in the country!!! I had two plates that I grabbed, one because I picked on my food while going around the buffet and it felt dry, mind ya this was at 12:30 the buffet hadn't been open that long. I grab two plates of food that I didn't even eat I picked felt tasted, it was horrible, the food felt like it was leftovers from the night before, have you people reading ever seen food refried after its already been fried, you can see by the texture and color in the French fries, I k ow this because I used to work at a restaurant. Most the food looked like it was from before and not fresh at all, again I didn't even eat my plates I picked and tasted and I couldn't eat it. I was passed off, disappointed. I asked for the tab and let them know I couldn't eat it and what I tasted and felt, the servers are not at fault they ways do great, what was bad was management didn't even Bother showing face but they a gather up to check the heaters, supposedly it's a new manager but even then didn't even bother credit me or refund, and I still tipped out if respect to the servers. It's embarrassing to be in a marquee location and have your restaurant be like that with the quality of the food, most people know this as the fancy buffet and call you bouje if you go here I stead of the one in the edge Lowes plaza but I probably would of been better off there today, it's disappointing because I even showed them I was placing an order at Sonyas Deli(park ave) online on my phone for a make your own bowl because I couldn't eat the food there at honk Kong today. Mind you it wasn't just one specific food they all looked like that dry leftovers, the brown gravy I was stirring it because it looked like it was just taking out and not even worked on properly before putting it out, you could see the water floating up first. I'm very disappointed, I didn't want to make a seen because there was a father and his little daughter there eating, but this food for a restaurant belonged in the trashed today, I know the economy is bad but you can't Blane everything o. The food heater warmers, that's not cool again the customer service has always been great but this was a horrible experience, and prior to me sitting down I think it was the manager telling us to be aware and order sushi freshly made at their station which is great but after an experienceike this why would I even trust eating raw sushi ? I'm dissapoiamd I hope things improve because of the reputation this place has garner through the years, its always quality that defines you, the food was bad, especially for the time I was there, it should be fresh. Very dissatisfied, I bet if Mayor Fung was there it would of been fresh because I have been there before when Mayor Fung walked in when he was still in office and it was like he was the rock, line to say hi everything was fresh, at it was during lunch hours as well o. A day not so busy. No real excuses for this mishap. Do better because I know you can provide better service I seen it and had it before. Some people do t like speaking up but I have no problem speaking up especially when. It comes to service and food quality. Like I said I was ordering from down the road while being there not to be disrespectful but because I just couldn't eat that food that was served today, that should never happen. What if I wS an inspector or related to someone who was? That's not a good look, please fix the issues asap, it's happen on occasion but this time nooooo noooo not...
Read moreIn my opinion, this place is one of the best buffet-style Chinese-food restaurants in the northern half of the state. Sadly, it's also one of the last. The inside is huge, featuring two main seating areas on opposite sides of the building that still remain close enough to where the food is located. They feature several different styles of food, from American (including prime rib and/or tenderloin on weekends), regular Chinese-food, sushi, and a soup/salad bar, to a full dessert bar with jello, various puddings, and ice cream. Free refills on non-alcoholic beverages and they have beer and wine, too. Lunch is cheap, with evenings being a bit more, and Fri/Sat/Sun evenings are a buck more than those. Located just south of where Phenix/Park ave. crosses Cranston St. Adjacent to a liquor store on Cranston St. Parking is in the rear of...
Read moreHonestly, the people of Cranston, Rhode Island must have no clue of what Chinese food should look and/or taste like. The food here is completely suspect. I have no idea how this place gets more than one star. Do NOT believe the ratings. I love going to buffets, and wish I didn't, however I am a normal person with legitimate viewpoints. The meat does not look real. I can tell you it is imitation. There are one or two dishes that "sort of" taste good and the rest of the food is garbage. The place is filthy, the staff looks tired and overworked, and the food is flat out disgusting. If you want to spend 15 bucks on a dinner buffet, go to a gas station. When you have to cut things and half to drive to determine what's inside, you probably shouldn't be eating it. Enjoy at your own demise, I assure you you will be...
