Bad food review: (Azteca buffalo wings) Alrighty then... I never thought I would be doing this because I think food reviews are so shallow and picky most of the time but, I'm here to save anyone else from subjecting themselves to the terrible wings at Azteca. Today at work, we have a guy moving to another shift and we decided to treat him to a wing night as a send-off because he's awesome and we'll miss him. I was chosen to pick the wings up from somewhere and I thought I'd choose Azteca because few years ago, I read a thread about who made the best wings in town and Azteca was #1. I thought it would be a safe choice because of that. I ordered ahead and picked them up on my way to work and I ordered medium buffalo and lemon pepper rub. I anticipated opening the container to some nice looking, juicy, red saucy wings. But, when we opened the wings up to get ready to eat, I noticed the medium buffalo looked like naked wings with no sauce and thry looked like they were dehydrated like a piece of jerky. Upon further inspection, there was sauce in the bottom of the container but it was very little and very runny. I tried one and it was like biting into a piece of LEATHER!!! The wings were so dried out there was very little edible meat on them. The sauce, what little there was in the container was ok. Seriously, I'm pretty sure these wings were cooked yesterday... The Lemon Pepper wings had great flavor however, they were cooked yesterday too and I may have lacerated my throat trying to swallow one. All jokes aside, I am deeply disappointed and feel terrible for subjecting my co-workers to the $63 pile of boney meatleather that I had brought into work. I wish this terrible expreience on no-one and hope that Azteca can turn their wing game around into what it was once known for before football season but, I dont believe I will ever eat their wings again.

Thank you for reading and..

Go BLUE!!! Fly...

I must start by expressing my deepest apologies for my terrible reaction after our dining experience fell so far short on the service performance. She was new and still learning. Granted, she may not have been vetted by management but I didn't have to make the Manager's night any worse by being so very unprofessional and direct during my complaint discussion. I most certainly must apologize for the horrible way I worded my review the first time. I've realized that I have basically thrown my integrity that my 21-year Air Force Career in the fighter aircraft industry instilled in me out of the window going 80MPH or over 500MPH in the seat of an F-16. I'm SORRY. I forgive the server and hope she does better for herself. No name needed, but sorry for being so direct and to the point. The manager, I'm sorry for stating, that leadership is the one that must be the problem due to the low scores on service. No long story needed here. Just wanted to say, I'm very sorry. I will work on myself and all of my challenges that I face and not try an push my standards off on people that trigger my PTSD. I always denied that but found a terrific place where I'm safe. Safety is the key. I made people feel unsafe with my harsh direct comments and mostly my RBF and direct eye contact. To darn intimidating and I'm trying to change. Please accept my apologies to all including the community that seen my original comments. I'm way better that that. I just find it hard to forgive myself for my harsh abrasive attitude when I feel disrespected. Apologies to all Two ears, one mouth. Promise to listen more that speak. Wish me luck and prayers. Must start the bigger conversation and most important one. I know 2 that have unconditional forgiven me so I must go thank him today Sunday. God bless all and I'm...

Staff was friendly, business was clean, looks like they're trying to appeal to the market. Food was prepared quickly and came out hot.

Food was bland, overpriced (for store bought or canned). Guacamole was a pre made avocado puree with cilantro added, salsa was soupy (but did have fresh cilantro added when plated which was a nice touch). Menu was huge with over fifty selections, including fettuccini Alfredo? Confused with the Italian fare and decor. Margaritas were watered down and seemed to be large batch pre made for the dinner rush. Ordered the "Vegas Bomb" which would have been a really good drink but couldn't have been more than one ounce crown one ounce schnapps with six ounces mixer and way too much ice.

The other customers seemed to enjoy themselves so maybe this passes for Mexican cuisine, couldn't help being disappointed.

Only writing this review as a suggestion to ownership and management. Reduce the menu to a quarter of what's there, use fresh Haas avocados with salt, lime, and cilantro (cut with florida avocados to save cost if you must), make your salsa daily from fresh vegetables, don't make your margaritas from margarita mix, focus on core Mexican staples if you are branding yourself as a Mexican bar and grill. Fettuccini Alfredo? Forget about it!

Would return if food was Mexican, not something like Mexican.

(TL;DR : food overpriced, not fresh, drinks watered down, not really...

Best hot wings in town! Sounds weird I know, but it's true. Try them! I get mone "hot and wet" and boy do they know what that means. Thwy hook you up with all the extra sauce your heart desires. Lol Their margaritas are good too, but the recipe isn't always consistent. Most of the time they're great, but every now and then they skimp on the alcohol for sure and the mix seems a tad watered down. But that's not a regular occurrence. I'd say it's only hsppened twice in a year span and we eat there a couple times a month. Also, the house margs are bogo every day except Sunday. Their chips and salsa are always fresh even though I have noticed the recipe fluctuates a little with the salsa. Most of the time it's amazing but occasionally we've received something that looked and tasted more like Pace Picante from the grocery store. Lol But again, that isn't all the time. Overall, Azteca is my fave tex-mex place in C'view. Their food and drinks are better than anywhere else and we've tried them all except for the newest one that just opened "El Paso".

Went here today. Been in Crestview for a few months and slowly trying all of the non fast food restaurants. The food may not LOOK like much but just like with Aladdin...it is not what is outside but what is inside that counts. Holy mother of Mexican food the super chimichanga is amazing. The other dish (the one with refried beans) was the regular chimichanga with ground beef. They both were excellent but the "super" is twice the size, comes with steak AND chicken inside along with bell peppers and onions. Pair that up with BOGO margaritas and you're in for a treat! I also love their chips and salsa...very fresh, nice chunks of onion swimming in a mild blend of tomato and spices. If I could have possibly managed to eat dessert I would have...however that chimi about made me explode! Highly, highly recommended! Service was also quick and courteous!

Wait a minute! We've officially eaten at most of the Mexican food places in Crestview and this place by far had the most fun vibe, felt like a family friendly restaurant, and the service was great! The vibrant atmosphere and warm, welcoming staff instantly made me feel at home. The menu offered a wide array of authentic Mexican dishes, each bursting with incredible flavors and fresh ingredients. I couldn't resist trying their Tres Mosqueteros! SO good, spicy and bubbling when it arrived at the table! And my hurricane was the perfect balance! Can't wait to come back! Our server Shelby is the best!
