Chuck's Tavern — Restaurant in Crete

To be fair it was Monday night and kind of dead. Maybe this is just my age showing, but I was kinda shocked at the amount of F~Bombs and Mutha-F☆kkas being thrown around by both customers and workers. Back when I worked customer service jobs THAT was a NO NO no matter how cool the customer OR the waiter/waitress. Trust me I'm a retired construction worker and according to my own mother "have the mouth of a sailor", however I feel perhaps the owners are not aware of the lack of discretion? Just my humble opinion, but I dont know of anyone who wants to sit and listen to that while they are out trying to have a convo with their friends.....it made us leave early when we had originally planned a low key date night. On the UPSIDE, they have a taco bar which is pretty good and the service from the entire staff is great. Reasonably priced and the drinks aren't...

horrible service tonight. the bar tender (with a like green jacket on) messed up our first drinks because she couldn't tell that they were supposed to be jack and coke and they looked like and tasted liked jack and beer. she fixed the drinks by going downstairs but didn't do anything about it. when we ordered shots the bottle was almost empty and the first shot was full but the second shot was not full at all and she played it off like nothing was wrong. i even seen her look at the shots three or four times. I thought she was going to open another bottle but she didnt. we didn't want to start anything so we just left it be. we will not be returning. I'm never coming...

I'm not surprised that this place is still here. I was last there in 1965 when Johnny Lizderro owned it. he died and John Jr. (Jughead) inherited it, who gave it away one night . It used to be "Chucks Place" and goes back to the turn of the century " 1890s for sure When Johnny owned it he used to leave the back door unlocked so anyone could come in early for a eye opener.
