Went there last night - busy as can be - of course because the pizza is great! However one thing this business is people may love the food but they RETURN because of the SERVICE! Tonya, was always great! I'm not sure who all of the new waitresses are but last night was NOT good at all! Went for my son's 18tb birthday - tried to call a few times to give a heads up even though they don't take reservations but no one would answer the phone. After waiting a half an hour for a table (there were plenty of dirty 4 top tables but we had 8 people) a group got up so we went and stood by it cause the waitress just said grab one of you see it and there are probably plenty of groups ahead of us (we were the only ones by the door). Took another 20 min for a waitress to come clear the pitchers and glasses. She never came back to wipe it down we grabbed a rag from the still dirty table next to us. Not long after we sat several more large tables cleared out and we're left with old pizza trays and pitchers the entire time we were there. It was hot as could be in there - we were sweating. Took a good 8 min for someone to come get our drink order - which all 3 pitchers tasted like they were sitting and flat. Ordered our pizza and my cousin ordered a sandwich and a tea. We received our warm ,(not hot) pizza and his sandwich and she asked if he wanted chips she said ya and another tea.. needless to say 20 min later she walked by again and we told her again chips and tea. The pizza used to take the whole tray when you ordered a family size - ours definitely did not and was lacking toppings on a lot of it. Another time she walked past and didn't even stop but just said in passing everything ok? (Couldn't have told her if it wasnt). Needless to say I don't think I've ever had a waitress be less interested in a table. The check was strange too nothing broken down - just basically an amount so we had no idea how much anything was. Not sure if I'll go back, if I do and get the same server I'll request a different one. This is the 2nd incident we've had there with our service .. luckily the pizza is...

Luckily, there is no driftwood in the pizza.
Larry’s Driftwood pizza. A staple pizza place in Creve Coeur. In fact, it might be the only pizza place in Creve Coeur.
If you’ve ever visited Creve Coeur, you know it is a small town. In fact, you may have driven through it without realizing. A blink of an eye and you miss it as you drive towards Pekin and Marquette Heights. But doesn’t each small town have that really good eatery?
In my opinion, Larry’s fills that role. I’ve been here a few times throughout my life and really enjoy their pizza. Except for one thing. They cut it into small slices as seen in the photo below. Give me the wedge slices all day. Those small squares/rectangles are for the birds. Personal preference aside, the pizza is good.
I can’t remember which pizzas I’ve had from here but I do remember them being good. If memory serves me well, the sausage has that spiciness to it that you don’t get at a lot of places. As for other offerings the menu provides, you’ll have to go there yourself or see if you can Google the menu as I neither took any photos of the menu nor remember what else they serve.
On many occasions, I have driven by and the parking lot is fairly packed. Speaking of parking lot, it shares it with some other local businesses, so be wary of going during a dinner rush. Larry’s is located in one of those strips where all the businesses share a wall.
As for the interior of Larry’s, I don’t remember much. Next time I am there, I will snap a few photos and update this blog. In the early days of traveling, I was notoriously bad at taking photos. Still am, but not nearly as terrible.
In the end, if you find yourself in Creve Coeur and are craving some pizza, Larry’s will do more than suffice. If you like driftwood in your pizza… well maybe you need to go to a hospital and get checked for Pica.
Now, I am wondering if maybe they serve the pizza on boards fashioned out...
Read moreI have been eating pizza here since I was a little girl. Almost 30 years. It is my favorite pizza ever & honestly, the only pizza I really love. I always order a family deluxe & I recommend this place to literally everyone. However, the service lately has been awful. I called to place my usual order yesterday, just a family deluxe & the woman who answered said “Oh, well it’s going to be at least an hour wait.” & I said that’s fine, I’m ok with waiting an hour. & she then immediately replied “Oh actually it’s going to be like 2 hours, the kitchen just told me that.” & I said “2 hours just for 1 pizza?” & she said “Yes I’m sorry. There’s too many orders in front of you so it’ll be a long time before they can get to yours”. So I politely said no thanks then, I couldn’t wait that long to eat. She acted very strange like she just didn’t want to take any orders. It was odd. My husband thought it was super strange so he decided to call less than 5 minutes after I did just to see. He asked to put in an order for a family deluxe & was told it would be 45 minutes, no problem at all & we picked it up even a little early with zero issues. It all depends on who answers the phone it seems. They have some of the best waitresses & then they have some of the worst. It’s so up & down. I still recommend eating here but just know, lately it’s 50/50 on whether you’ll have good service or not. I hope they will figure out who the problems are here because I really...
