Cancun Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Crossville

This is a hard review to leave. My girlfriend has really loved this place where I avoided it. But over the last several trips the food and service has really went downhill, which is sad to say. And sad to say that we are now looking for a new Mexican joint. Based on my last experience alone id leave one star but i gave it an extra one cause it used to be good.

When it comes to the service... it took forever to get someone to our table. We had our chips and salsa timely but couldn't get anyone's attention to get salt. Then we had to ask two different times and took forever. They wanted our drinks, appetizers order and main dish all at one time. We wanted to wait a min for our food. Now they were busy that night but didn't look that busy.

Drinks took forever to get to us, we couldn't even get them by the time we nibbled down all the chips, sweating from the spicier salsa we asked for. Then they were kinda out of whack on the flavor.

The food, ugh the food. We ordered the combo 5 to share. It was a chalupa and a Chile relleno. It had a side of beans with it. The beans on the other side of the plate tasted different from the one. Everything was super watered down too. They had a traditional style chalupa but tasted and felt like unfried wheat tortilla almost expired. We did what we could to Choke it down.

Just sucks that we've seen it go so...

Ok. So my husband and I love Mexican food and this place seemed to have the best reviews. I'll admit the place was clean and the atmosphere was what you might expect from any Mexican restaurant. The waiter was nice at first. But when we got our food I noticed parts of it were different than what the menu specified. When I asked the waiter to correct it he seemed irritated by that. But at least he didn't charge us for the corrections.

The portions were good sized. I wished that my husband and I had shared. However, the food was very bland. It lacked flavor almost completely and I was disappointed in that. The drinks were ok though. The salsa had a good flavor but the chips were just not what I like.

The food service was very quick though. We didn't have to wait for very long at all. I got Carnitas and they were super tender but again.... very bland. My husband said that his street tacos weren't the best he's ever had but they were ok.

It seems as of their Pico de Gallo was old as well. The tomatoes looked like they were turning and the cilantro looked old. 🤷‍♀️

I give three stars because it wasn't the worst I've ever had but I also...

Great place with absolutely amazing employees. My 29 month old daughter, Myshelle, began choking on her turkey bone within a matter of seconds. I rushed across the beautiful indoor decorum to get a hold of my daughter's giblet and fish out that dang bone. Thankfully the friendly staff, so sweet, immediately began CPR on Myshelle and saved her life and her dinner. We will very much be back, my little Myshelle is literally vibrating right now. She's so sh00k. I will no longer be bringing turkey bones for her to chew on, only rawhides. Thank you again to the Cancun wait staff for saving my little baby. She wishes that there will be rawhides added to the menu now! Myshelle loves her rawhides. She is my treasure and without the staff there I'm sure she would have swallowed the turkey bone whole and not have been able to pass into the spirit world due to poor spiritual connection to the avatar state. Thank you again for saving the world's most precious being, Myshelle. She is truly grateful as well as I. Well, I better get off of here. Myshelle is gnawing at my calves again, silly girl! Beautiful experience and cannot wait to...
