Ive been here two times and just always end up disappointed in the food. First time the service was great, though the sushi took so long that we just had to take it off our ticket. Both time we came there was barely 3 tables including myself. THE PEPPER SHAKERS WERE FILTHY!!! This time around it was pretty fast, but was disappointed in the house soup. Didn't expect it to have spice in it. Was like a punch in the throat.~~I cant have spice. I asked if it had cayenne in it and she said no. Let her know it was a bit to spicy for me and she was just like "okay?" And walked off. The Wasabi (according to my bf who ended up finishing the soup since she didn't want to do anything about it) was blander than the soup. The ginger was subpar. The spicy salmon crunchyroll was so mild even i enjoyed the flavor. Though it was dry. Though you only get 6 pieces they are thick so that is a plus. Long story short I just have to remind myself that the great prices are not worth the drive.

Very good Asian cuisine for the area. One of my favorite stops. I have had the Japanese fried shrimp and rice. I have also had the hibachi shrimp pictured. The salad and miso are also excellent. The service is good and the decor is original. No WiFi though, too bad. All else was great.

Used Waitr and ordered lunch 3 roll special which included a "side salad". Someone needs to tell them that a side salad is more than lettuce and spoiled ranch dressing. Rolls were good, but did not taste fresh. I've had better from a buffet honestly.

Seriously overpriced, helpless waitstaff and simply disappointing sushi. Spicy tuna was passable (I was upcharged for the sub, though the salmon I was subbing for was the more expensive menu item), as was the hamachi, but the sushi rice was bland and dry. I suspect it wasn't even dressed at all. The nori was also tough and chewy, meaning that roll had been sitting around for a while and was most certainly not made to order. The white tuna was all wrong, not fresh and I embarrassingly had to spit it out.

My fellow diner had the hibachi chicken, which was well prepared and fresh, while the beef was overcooked and very chewy.

The prices are 1.5x-2x what you'd pay in Lafayette just 30 minutes away where you can throw a rock and hit three great sushi places. Stay on I-10 towards Lafayette and hit up Sakura. Avoid the hilariously named Tokyo Japan.

EDIT: I'd also like to note that there was a 42" HDTV about five feet away from my table, where I was sitting with my two small children, which was tuned to Spike TV which was playing a horror movie and we were subjected to people being mutilated in the most gory of fashions while I enjoyed this overpriced and mediocre...

Oh no… a total waste of my $30. The food was so horribly gross. I ordered a dinner special, 2 chef special rolls… a King roll and a Mr. Ed roll. One of them looked like it had chicken in it!??? I had to do a double take. There was not supposed to be chicken in what I ordered, but it didn’t look or taste like anything the description said would be in the roll. The roll that I believe it was ‘supposed’ to be was the King roll. It was so strongly fishy flavored, it tasted like it had spoiled. Maybe the eel sauce had gone bad? I could not eat the food. I am not a picky person, someone who usually complains, and I don’t usually write reviews. This place is not worth the money wasted. How it has the 4+ star rating beats me. Maybe other things are better from the menu? I like to support small local businesses, but this place needs to step up. If you’re looking for fresh fish, or a roll that isn’t fried, this is NOT your place. Disappointed is too delicate a word, regret is how I am feeling about this dinner. Very sad. Can’t leave zero stars or...
