Fire Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Crystal Lake

This place is absolutely shameful - This incident happened to one of my closest friends last week at Fire bar in crystal lake . I will never be giving them my business again. This is told by my friend. Quote unquote.

OK so I go to fire bar just like I always do to play bingo. Of course now I have my emotional support dog Mac with me and he is in baby carrier and he is sleeping. He’s not on the ground, he is not being fed any food, and the owner of the restaurant, Nino, comes up to me… and says, “you cannot have this dog at the bar. you are welcome here, but the dog is not unless it’s some sort of service animal .” I said, “yeah this is my emotional support dog. I have papers for him, I’m training him to be my service animal. “. I said, “ I have them in my car and I have a laminated plaque for him .” He said, “well that’s good because otherwise this is just Rude.” The dog is not doing anything. I said, “This is not even against health code or anything. I am not feeding him food from table or anything. He’s sleeping .” I looked to the bartender and I said , “If you would please go get me a box and my check because I am leaving. I have eaten in here for years. I come here every Sunday to play bingo. I have a disability. In fact, I am parked in your handicap spot out front. I was hit at 70 miles an hour head on in a car , I have brain damage!. 8 mm x 3 mm lesions on my brain .This dogs come with me everywhere and I have his papers.. “. You should have asked, May ask to see the dogs papers or whatever to stay in the establishment. You do not engage and interject your personal opinion about myself in public at a restaurant. “. He was being rude . So when he went back in the kitchen , the staff members came up to me and apologized on his behalf. They say it’s wrong, it should not be happening. So I wait for him to come out of Kitchen he deliver a plate to table. I walked up to him . I say, “Excuse me …. I just want to let you know that next week you will be hearing from my lawyer. You have discriminated against me. You have discriminated against me , I am disabled. I have disability and I have papers for this ANIMAL. I was happy to show them to you until you offended me by telling me that this ….(and I put my hands like down my body and pointed to my dog )is rude. I have my dog in a baby Bjorn that is sleeping . I have friends that come in here . No more ! I will tell everybody and you’ll hear from my lawyer.” he goes , I don’t understand why you’re so upset ma’am.” I said,”I’m upset because you offended me and told me that this is rude . You cannot do that. You...

They have really good variety of wing flavors and the wings are cooked perfectly. They also have a good Philly cheesesteak. If you don’t like steak they have chicken Philly. They have really good quesadillas with chicken or without they make the best old-fashioned. I’ve had in a very long time Definitely kid friendly as there are tons of kids throughout the building we’ve had some great waitresses and then we’ve had some not so great waitresses. I would honestly say this is the only thing that they need to work on the food is always hot always good and we always finish it even if we bring it home. You do get the food pretty quick and you can also get your drinks quick if you have the right waitress sometimes if you have the wrong one, they will stand and talk at the bar for 20 minutes while you have empty glasses across the table and nobody in the restaurant to me that shows poor waitressing skills. I don’t want this to be a complaint. We go here all the time and have never had any issues with the food or drinks. Some of the waitresses we have had are also very good. You don’t wait for anything. They pay lots of attention, but don’t overwhelm your table at the same time. They should have them training some of the other waitresses that would be a great...

We've been coming to this neighborhood spot for years — it's usually our go-to for consistent, comforting food and a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience today didn’t live up to the standard we've come to expect.

The quality of the food was noticeably off. The burger buns were dry and served without even a light toast, which made the whole dish feel a bit lackluster. Our fries arrived ice cold, which was especially disappointing given how good they usually are. The biggest issue was the timing — half of our entrees came out at least 10 minutes before the others. By the time the rest of the table was served (those dishes were piping hot and clearly fresh), the first half had arrived warm, and now cold by the time the rest of the plates arrived

On a positive note, our waitress was fantastic — attentive, friendly, and doing her best despite the kitchen’s pacing issues. However, the busser removed the plates we were still eating from, even after we let him know we weren’t finished. It felt rushed and disrupted what should have been a casual, enjoyable meal.

We love supporting local and understand that every place can have an off day. Hopefully, this was just that — an off day — and things will return to the usual quality we’ve always...
