Triple Berry Café — Restaurant in Crystal Lake

This was our favorite place to eat out until a bad experience ruined it. Everyone here is nice, but the best is the fast, good food. If you go before 8 in the morning, it's basically empty and the perfect time to go.

Here's the bad: I like to order online and pick up as a convenience to save time. The restaurant prefers their website with a Tapmango addition. I have had no problem ordering before. On Christmas, the website said they were open, and accepted a pickup order. I went to pickup and the restaurant was closed. Disappointed but I figured they would fix that tomorrow. I emailed immediately to let them know about this error in the system, didn't receive a reply. I called the next day, and no one could help me, but they promised to immediately call the owner and have him call me back. No call, no text, no email reply, nothing. I sent another message 2 weeks later figuring the holidays caused some delay. Still nothing. Is this how business is done? I hope not. The message I received says the owner doesn't care and doesn't want more business, unfortunately. Good news is there are a lot of options...

First time I ever came here with my fiancé and son everything came out really tasty, good pricing and service.

Second time I ordered from them through door-dash food was ok. My problem with that order, I received bacon even though requested Turkey bacon (we don’t eat pork) my son almost ate it. Called to let them know of their mistake owner went on about how they don’t make money through doordash and they didn’t see my request/notes.

Today went for breakfast date with my son and service was good. But when packing up my sons leftovers there was an obvious facial hair right on the plate under the eggs.. I didn’t want to make a big deal I didn’t complain for my money back It was just gross because I don’t know if my son ate a hair himself. Cherry on top, after paying I realized I was charged $12 for 2 orange juices. I had asked about different juices they offered she listed all fruit juices never mentioning “fresh squeezed and double the price”. Just very upset won’t be...

Ate here for lunch. Greeted right away by a friendly young man. Had a new server and she was great - prompt, friendly, checked on us during the meal, answered our questions about the food. (We were first-timers.)

I had a turkey wrap, which was fresh and tasty. The turkey is just cheap lunchmeat though, not roasted turkey. Wasn't crazy about the fries - they're the kind with the funky crispy coating.

Husband had the Chi-gyros which was supposed to be a combination of beef and lamb, so he was expecting slices of Italian beef and lamb gyro - which it wasn't. It was just a regular gyro. So maybe the gyro meat is a lamb-beef combination? But then, why would it be called a CHI gyro?!

A slight annoyance - pop music was playing way too loud on the overhead speakers.

Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but a decent place to stop if you're in the area and need a quick bite that's...
