Recently my wife got injured at work and I wanted to find the perfect place to take her to get her nails done. Ironically, in the morning at my work I overhead some co-workers talk about how they liked this place. After getting off, I took my wife to get her nails done.
To start with, I want to say that my my wife has tried a good amount of nail businesses in the McHenry and Crystal Lake area and hasn't found one that she was happy with. Some of the things that she has said and I have seen while waiting for her is that the nail techs don't talk to the customers much, they talk in a different language to each other while doing their customers nails, they seem to be too quick and not personable, and the quality of the nails when they are completed is very poor. Whether this be them cracking, chipping, or not evenly coated.
My wife was pleasantly happy about this experience and Polish Mii. While waiting for my wife to get her nails done, I had the opportunity to witness many things that I have never witnessed elsewhere. Almost every single person that walked through the door, every nail tech knew by name and acted as if they were part of their family. Asking about their kids, families, etc. Also, each nail tech interacted personally with their customers and was very professional when talking to each other.
Susan was the tech that did the nails for my wife. I am pretty sure this is the first time that she has walked out of a nail salon and didn't have anything negative to say. I as well didn't have any negative thoughts or comments. This will for sure be the first choice when my wife wants to get her nails done. Also, after a weekend of having her nails done, no chipping or cracking has happened. Thank you Susan for making my wife happy and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to this nail salon for a dip powder manicure about a month ago. They left my nails in foil for over an hour, so they were pretty soft by the time they got around to them. The nail technician then filed them with a dremel and buffed them very harshly which in return cracked 2 of my nails. I asked the nail technician what we could do about the cracks and she replied that they just handle it by applying the dip powder over the crack. Lo and behold, the nail and dip cracked less than 48 hours later. I went back to the salon (where the nail tech was just sitting there) and they told me I needed to make an appointment to get it fixed. As a āfixā, the nail tech put some glue on top of the polish and one more clear coat on top which of course did not hold. The rest of the nail polish cracked less than 2 weeks later. Terrible customer service- I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here as a walk in to just get some no chip polish removal from my toes. They were able to get me in right away, everyone was super friendly. Unfortunately the tech used a buffer/grinder that damaged my nails. No foil with acetone soaking to remove. The nails are not smooth and over-buffed. Very rough looking and feeling, I'll definitely have to treat them and keep polish off for awhile. And then when she was filing them, my one toe was pretty sensitive and it was hurting. A few hours later I realized there seems to be a cut above my nail in my skin, because it's really sore. Maybe during the trim? I'm honestly not sure how it happened. I've never had any of these experiences at previous salons. Even with these two negatives I would be willing to come back again for a full pedicure, not sure if the issue was the tech or...
