Dockside Ice Cream Shoppe — Restaurant in Crystal River

I have to give it a star? There over Labor Day weekend with 3 others. First two ordered and paid. I asked server what the “waffle bowls” were for on the counter as I don’t visit ice cream stores often, I didn’t know what many of the menu items were, and I wanted to make an informed selection. The server simply looked at me and said “Obviously they’re for the waffle Sundae”. When she saw my eyes pop out she stuttered out something about being sorry for being sarcastic but she can’t help it. The person and I quickly decided not to order and waited for the rest of our party. Another customer needed to use the restroom but found it locked and she had more negative attitude when asked for the key.

When I told my brother what happened after we left he said I must not have read her shirt. I didn’t. It said “Sarcasm loading, wait.” Seriously? This is your customer service? Never again. I don’t know it she was just counter help or the owner or the owners relative but it was absolutely pathetic.

The good news is I left there and went downtown and found more than one ice cream shop there I can try on...

Great little find. Good ice cream. Plenty of different choices. Waffle, regular cones or bowls. I believe there were other things such as candies, but i was really only there for the ice cream. Cute little place hidden away. Could use a bit more lighting outside to show whereabouts. Friendly staff. My family went here for a treat after our manatee tour. Great little shop. The employees were great and even asked if the scooped amount of ice cream was okay. They had bottle drinks for purchase as well, which is always a plus, because I get thirsty when eating my ice cream.
