Love this place. Unfortunately, this facility is now a primary launch location for a few of the local kayak companies, so it can congest this site but hopefully the local companies will police themselves and do the correct thing for all their guests! Convenience is paramount here and it is nice to rent and launch without having to pile the boat on top of ur Beamer... Waters here are so much fun to paddle. Done it at least 6 times and enjoy the tremendously pristine waters and the inlet setting keeps the waters calm. Also find that the buildings around can help cut the winds so paddling against them is not so difficult, of course on normal days. Facilities for the human necessaries and place to change from those were clothes. Great food at the street with a few local favorite restaurants and also, just around the corner, literally, on Citrus Street. 2 to 3 minute walk from the park to the food. Parking can be a struggle, even with a few local lots. Just be prepared for that possibility. Over...

Make sure to pay for parking lol, I guess I and a few other out of state guests for a tour there missed the “sign” to pay for parking. As we exited we still couldn’t find where or any evident sign. The ranger wasn’t happy, but maybe if he invested all the money from the tickets he issues to make a more evident sign and park payment location then he wouldn’t be so grumpy. Giving it 1 star, because of the lack of signs during entrance, and the parking was empty except for the 4 of us in the tour, but we still got ticketed (no warning or alternative to pay right there). Kayak tours are all great and the volunteers keeping manatees safe by the river are amazing. Great nature location. For park improvement, make a sign like state or national parks where you have pay before you enter. Add a gate or something if...

This a gorgeous park to launch from to enjoy the water. I love coming here to paddleboard and kayak. There are plenty of rental options available for everyone to enjoy.

The park itself is very clean, offers a small playground and a clean bathroom. The bathroom can be used to change clothes to get into the water or vice versa.

They have many educational signs around the park, and some of the rental personnel are very helpful.

You do need to pay the fee to park, which is just a self check in Kiosk for $5.

Please keep the park clean when you visit, leave no trace of trash or debris.

Manatees and other wildlife are known to frequently be in the area and close by.

Enjoy this little gem of...

Stopped by to launch canoe, we had the last open parking spot at about 1pm. Machine to pay for parking by entrance. If full you can wait for someone to leave. Maybe 20 spots? Unloading area available. Many hired kayak companies launching from here. We paddled to the left toward 3 sisters, saw 2 manatees in canals and one out in open water near wildlife refuge. People tended to crowd the manatees, a bit sad their condition. Fairly easy paddle, but lots of boat traffic and people who aren’t good at paddling. It was $10 for car and one canoe, would recommend this location but arrive early to avoid limited parking. Restrooms and park onsite.
