Jeff and Marissa at KC Wine and Coffee Bar are totally rocking the food and entertainment scene in Crystal River!
Every customer is warmly welcomed, and things just get better from there! A well-curated selection of wines, domestic and imported beers, delicious international food, smoothies, great conversation, and hot or cold coffee drinks are just a few of the things their customers - who quickly become friends - rave about.
Jeff is totally knowledgeable about every item on the menu and in the bar, and is delighted to share new wines and food offerings. Marissa is absolutely brilliant in the kitchen, and makes every appetizer and meal perfectly to order. Everything is delicious and beautifully presented.
Together Jeff and Marissa also are a driving force in creating an amazing music scene in the area, and regularly bring in great talent.
They launched a meal service through which you can order a week’s worth of healthy, delicious meals prepared and packaged to go - salmon, cod, red snapper, stir-fried vegetables, and much more - to help you to stay on whatever eating plan (Keto, low-carb, gluten-free, whatever) you may follow.
A venture with the Heilig Haus in Homosassa, an over-the-top bed-and-breakfast (you have to experience this place!) provides a great opportunity for business owners and community leaders - and will brighten the local food scene with themed dinners. Do check them out.
The KC family moved from their original location in the local mall, which was perfect for a before or apres-movie (they were steps away from the mall’s Regal Theater).
Their original bistro was the perfect venue on a quiet, rainy afternoon when you just wanted to sit on a sofa and enjoy some great wine, a good book, interesting conversation and delicious snacks.
Their current location on Citrus Avenue has taken the atmosphere and offerings to the next level.
I look forward to their next venture, which was in development the last time I was in town.
KC Wine and Koffee Bar is perfect for when you want to take a friend or special someone to a hidden gem for a delightful meal and drinks. Or whenever!
Jeff and Marissa truly deliver. And the glow of their love for one another, for their family and for what they give to the community surrounds all who visit, everyone of whom quickly becomes a...
Read moreI am blown away. What started as "just needing something to eat" turned into an extraordinary feast for three. My boyfriend, his mother and I were about to go walk down by the water when we realized a) how scorching it was out that day and b) we needed AC + food before our adventures. So we stumbled into KC Wine and Koffee Bar. The outside can be very deceiving. From the outside, it looks like a rustic loungey coffee bar/cocktail speakeasy where you whisper a secret passcode into the large wooden barn-esque door window to be let in. Upon entering, you are welcomed into the wine bar atmosphere which is dark, mysterious and charming (kind of what I call my boyfriend on a good day.) The wine selection was surprisingly above par. I definitely suggest the Cooper + Thief since it's one of our personal favorites, ever. I highly suggest trying this bourbon barrelled red blend during the colder months since it keep you and your insides warm. But if you're feeling rebellious and need the inner demons let out, drinking it on a hot day would suffice too. The best part was the food. OH MY WORD. What an experience! I am a retired vegan and still not much of a meat eater myself. However, the beef lumpia's were chefs kiss. My mouth's salivating just thinking about them right now... and I had them weeks ago! The tuna was probably our personal favorite out of what we ordered. We loved them so much that we decided to place another order!! I highly suggest asking for the tuna blacked AND sesame crusted... I promise, you won't regret it. We finally finished off our time at KC's with the dessert lumpia's. Essentially they are the lumpia's but with cream cheese and a choice of whatever other filling that you want. We got guava, peach and mixed berry and the mixed berry slightly warmed and juicy with the sweet cream cheese are what dreams are made of.... I am writing this review three weeks late but I think about KC's and their food at least once a day, if not every three days. A true hidden gem. We will be...
Read moreWe visited KC Wine and Koffee Bar around 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon (today). We were the only people in there for the first half-hour (there may have been 1 other customer working on a laptop). The waitress Angela greeted us warmly and the environment is beautiful and fresh. Their wine selection is extensive and the place has a laid back easy feel ( not too uptight). The service was excellent except she didn't offer to refill my soda but was on point for everything else. The food however was not as expected. My Greek Salad is not a Greek Salad, not even close. It's absolutely yummy (must add lettuce $), but I've been craving an Authentic Greek Salad for sooo long. The Onion Rings and sauce were AWESOME! Everything was fresh. The problem is the Ribeye Hoagie was tiny and needed to represent itself better. For $14.99 there was not enough food. Howie felt cheated. The roll was just barely 6", was very dry, barely had any meat on it, and even less onions and peppers. The meat was fresh but was the quantity you'd find on a child's menu. The onion rings were sparse, but fresh. For the upcharge, there should have been more. We also ordered a Greek Gyro. The pita and the tziki sauce were awesome! The meat was not fresh and were possibly frozen patties prior to preparation? I would have loved to try coffee and desert but our waitress asked to check us out right after we got our food. We chose this place because they had good ratings and the prices were listed at at $10-$20. Money is super tight these days and we wanted to support...
