Truly great donuts. These donuts are "what you see is what you get", mom & pop, classic variety. If you want something that looks like an art project, go to Glam Doll. If you want the sterile Starbucks experience, go to Cardigan. But if you want fantastic classic donuts done right, go here.

Exhibit A: the bavarian cream. Sure, it's easy to make what is essentially sugar, vanilla and eggs taste ok. But you see one in the Cub Foods donut case and it looks deflated and depressed. The ones here are perky and you don't have to bite through 60% of the donut before sighting cream. And the taste is elevated; the vanilla comes through really well.

Exhibit B: The glazed cake donut. Such a simple joy. You bite into it and realize the glaze isn't trying to hide anything. You can still taste the donut's donuttiness, a Goldilocks of cake texture that's perfectly moist with a tiny hint of salt.

Their donuts are excellent and the service is good. Unfortunately their hours can be very inconsistent. Seems as if they are a small operation so if something happens to those who make the donuts daily, they apparently don’t open for the day—not even a note on the door. I’ve come by on multiple early weekday mornings—in a row—only to find them closed; since they don’t have a website or any social media presence, one has no way of knowing whether they are open on a particular day unless they make the trek, do so at your own risk. Should the lights be on and the “open” sign lit, then prepare to enjoy some delicious & well priced donuts. Should you happen to drop by during a day/time where they are supposed to be open but are not, then you might have to settle for Funner Brothers Donuts further west on Medicine Lake Rd— which are still very good but not as good...

I came in looking for “Old Fashioned Donuts”; after I left a review, The store responded saying they don’t keep fancy donuts, so I edited my review to make it clear I wasn’t looking for those. (Their response disappeared) I just wanted an “Old Fashioned” donut. You know, like they have at gas stations and most donut places. This place really disappointed me because it’s extremely basic. They didn’t even have old fashioned donuts. How are you called the “old fashioned” donut place and you don’t have any? Also, on Google it’s “Old Fashion Donut Shoppe”: when you show up it just says “Donuts”. Old Fashioned donuts aren’t fancy. I don’t want something fancy exotic or crazy.
