From Dakota Brown: Well folks, this is going to be a long one, but youâll want to stick around for the end⌠I am absolutely appalled at what I witnessed this afternoon! Utterly disgusted. The society we live in today makes me sick to my stomach from business owners on down to regular citizens. The lack of empathy I witnessed this afternoon, the absurd selfishness that was before me⌠I tell you it would have made you just as livid as it did me, IF you are any kind of human being that isâŚ
This afternoon my mother, myself & all the kids were dining out at Lin Garden in Cullman. It was jam packed full of patrons. Mom was going back to the buffet for dessert when I heard a loud thud. I didnât think anything of it because I was distracted by all my kids throwing a fit. When I looked back up to see if mom was making her way back to our table, I could faintly hear her calling my name âDakota I fellâ. I immediately go into panic mode. I sling the stroller full with the boys in her direction & drag Aerris by one arm rushing over to mom laid out in the middle of the floor by the buffet.
I myself slipped in the midst of all the chaos, on what appeared to be a freshly mopped floor, with NO âwet floor signâ anywhere to be seen. I can see that my mother is in dyer need of medical assistance so I shout throughout the restaurant for someone to please call 911 we need an ambulance! My mother had been clearly knocked for a loop & could not get up off the wet floor. I shouted again for someone to please call 911! Everyone looked at me as if I had five heads!!!! So the third time I shouted for help, I got louder. Workers & customers just continued on their merry way, stepping over my mother laid out in the floor in clear need of medical assistance!!!!
Finally, what seemed to be the âowner/managerâ of Lin Garden comes rushing up to me & proceeds to get very close to my face angrily asking me to please lower my voice, âI have other customers in my restaurant trying to enjoy their mealsâ. After what seemed to be 5-7 full minutes another âowner/managerâ comes from the back of the kitchen area with the phone in her hand & I had to ask her well have you called 911 for an ambulance yet?!?! She just shook her head at me & finally dialed 911, then headed back off to the front of the restaurant.
It just astonishes me that not one single person stopped to help my mother! Not one!!!! Everyone just looked at me as if I were a crazy person!
What kind of society do we live in today that you do not stop to help your fellow man?!?! What if that were YOUR loved one laid out on the floor needing medical assistance?!
The same, clearly angry, âowner/managerâ of Lin Garden again comes rushing at me while I proceed to ask them to please help my mother, gets in my face yet again & tells me that âI need to leave her restaurant & I can talk to her attorney about all of thisâ. All I kept asking is why was there not a WET FLOOR SIGN put in the middle of the freshly mopped floor?!?! She then tells me âwell we just put the wet floor sign out now so no one else fallsâ. Like are you kidding me right now?!?! I asked her again, why was there not an employee present stating to patrons that the floor had just been mopped if they were not going to put out a wet floor sign?! Still in my face, she again tells me I can speak to her attorney about this matter & I need to leave her restaurant due to other customers trying to enjoy their meals!!!! Still, waiting desperately for help, my poor mother is laid out in the middle of the floor while employees & customers just step over her to continue on about their way! My mother laid in that wet floor well over ten minutes & not a single soul offered to help us!!!!
I had my arms full of three children screaming & crying, confused about the chaos that ensued. I have angry âowners/managersâ of Lin Garden in my face acting as if I caused this incident without a care in the world! I have not been so livid in a very long time!
The utter disregard for another human being suffering, helpless, was absolutely...
Read moreI'm really glad we got our local buffet back after their fire. They have an excellent variety of food, sure to satisfy all ages. It's not the best I've ever had but when you're really hungry and want to sample a little of everything, they definitely got you covered. Price has gone up (what restaurant hasn't?), but is still affordable even with prices on everything seemingly doubling. It's your standard Chinese buffet as far as atmosphere. Space is sufficient for you to not feel like you're jammed up against everyone else and the buffet is spread out enough you're not tripping over others to fill a plate. Where this place truly shines is their service. They are super friendly and unobtrusive. They understand what excellent service is. You never have to ask for drink refills as they just see an empty glass and bring you what you need. They don't hover, and they clear extra dishes immediately. I wish every restaurants staff worked like these wonderful people do. They're fantastic. And I can honestly say Lin Garden is always a solid and satisfying choice for a powerful hunger.
Only suggestions I have is having oyster sauce or other sauces readily available and steamed rice. The chicken on a stick teriyaki always seems to be overcooked and dry and could benefit from...
Read moreMy hubby took me to Lunch since after 3pm they change the bar out to include more seafood items and I am allergic to all of those items. I ate the Coconut Chicken, Steamed White Rice, Green Beans, Broccoli (from the Chicken & Broccoli), a few Corn Nuggets & 2 Spring Rolls. I would've had some of the Rice Noodles, but it was once again contaminated with seafood (crab) from the seafood dish that was directly across from it on other side of the hot bar. It happens quite frequently because of the food placement on the bars. I think all seafood items should be grouped together on 1 bar and all of the chicken dishes and side items on another bar so that cross-contamination doesn't happen. My food was delicious as always. The only other problem i have is that the Honey Chicken is no longer "Honey" Chicken like it was at the Grand Re-Opening. It is no longer honey colored. It doesn't taste like honey, either. It looks and tastes as though they are using the Sweet and Sour Sauce on it. I wish they'd go back to making the true Honey Chicken because then I could eat that item in addition to the Coconut Chicken. I'm allergic to the Sweet and Sour sauce because of the red coloring and the red spice in it. Sorry, no...
