It is one of the nicer baseball parks in North Alabama. The fields are nice and the underground dugouts give it a nostalgic feeling. There was plenty of shaded spaces offered and in these places they had huge fans which was super nice. The bathrooms were nice and well kept. And last but not least on the positive side, they allowed outside coolers. Now the flip side: Knock 1.) Even though the landscaping was beautiful it had 2 downsides . First, it made it harder to find people. Second it took up valuable real estate for those who bring their own seats and shade. In that sense I am of the mindset that less is more. Knock 2.) I wasn't a fan of the parking arrangement. It seems they didn't measure an actual car before lining off the parking lot so getting into and out of a spot at times may require a spotter. All in all its a great park and if your slated to play a tournament here you'll have a...
Read moreIt's an alright park. I can remember when it wasn't even there. They've had issues with massive ant beds all over the place and bad drainage on the foot paths since it opened in the 90s. There are ants just about everywhere; mostly all along the walking paths. Step off the path even slightly and get lit up with hundreds of fire ant bites. I remember when the park first opened and they got the baseball fields ready. It was such a huge letdown as a kid to find out that none of them are for public use. So anyway, the dog park is okay but most of the time there are 25+ Cullmanites standing in the entryway to it, so my dog and I just skip it and walk the paths. For me, it's too crowded except when it's freezing outside. Plus, there are lots of people with their dogs not caring what they're doing or which side the dogs are on. That's not the park's...
Read moreThere are many different things at the park. It has so much more potential though. Perhaps the two greatest attractions are softball/baseball and soccer. They have 5 ball fields and hold games/tournaments year round. They have at least three soccer fields for kids of all ages. I don't think they have bleachers set up for watching though. There is a 1 mile and a 3/4 walking trail; a very small part of it is wooded but not isolated. No skates, bikes, skateboards, etc are allowed on the trail. There is a dog park for small and large dogs. There is a volleyball net and a small playground for the kids. There is a small atrium for small concerts in the park. This was the first location of Rock the South. I'm not sure if it's still held here or not. It is also conventiently located to shopping and one of Cullman's three...
