Laurent’s “Le” Coffee Shop is a French bakery cafe right right on Washington Blvd. The owner Jamel is from France and they do everything French style. La Vie En Rose is playing as I’m writing this, and it’s such a peaceful start to my day.
It’s amazing, it’s a typical French place. The people inside are amazing and the hospitality is top notch.
I went with the coffee with almond milk, and the egg scramble with goat cheese and tomatoes, served with a side salad with their house-made vinaigrette.

Read moreI was a little excited to try this place. I ordered an iced latte, canele, and an avocado toast. For some reason the avocado toast took 28 minutes to arrive at my table. I'd have excused that if things were delicious but....
The eggs were IMO undercooked. I like runny yolks but half the whites were uncooked too. Maybe they rushed itnokce they realized they'd forgotten to make it.
I tried it anyway but the whole thing was rather flavorless. A couple of slices of avocado on a piece of french baguette with a fried egg and ground pepper.
The canele tasted ok but texture wise it was mushy on the outside instead of crisp.

I have had coffee here a few times and have eaten here a few times. the food is good. Today I came in for a muffin which was also good.
One thing I might suggest is that they work on being a bit friendlier. I try to support small businesses. I like small business. I dont understand how we in the US love chain places. Starbucks, coffeebean, mc Donalds, dominos etc etc. The same cookie cutter bland food, the same burnt coffee.
