On the last night of our stay, we noticed that the hairdryer attached to the wall was not working properly. I sent my partner down to the reception to ask for a replacement, he was told there wasn’t one and that she would send someone in to have a look at it the following day. My partner then returned to the room and shortly after we headed out for dinner. ||||On our return (at around 10:45pm) we packed our bags ready to check out the following morning, when we noticed that some of the gifts that we had bought to take home were no longer in the room. We had brought some gifts back to the room that day, and it was the same lady working on reception that my partner was discussing the hairdryer problem. We turned our room upside down, emptied all drawers, checked underneath the bed, checked the bin, checked the bathroom. The gifts that we had bought to take home were nowhere to be seen. ||||At 11:30pm, I went down to the reception to ask if anyone had been in my room that night whilst we were out. The man on the reception, denied this and made me feel stupid for asking if anyone had been in our room and had stolen our gifts. I asked if I could see the CCTV footage from right outside my room door, however, he denied any access as he did not have the login details for the CCTV. He then exclaimed that his manager would be able to view the CCTV remotely and call our room within the hour. (This did not happen). We were then told to come back the following morning at 7am when the manager would be working and allow us to view the CCTV.||||As we were leaving the next day and had no other time to repurchase the gifts we had bought, I read my travel insurance agreement and it stated on it that the only way to claim for ‘stolen goods’ is if you have a police report number. I then phoned the police, who couldn’t have been more helpful upon their arrival to the motel. After the officer took our statements, he went down to the reception to see if he could have a look at the CCTV, however, he was also unsuccessful and was not granted access. ||||The next morning, we went down to the reception to meet the manager and check out as well as leave our bags there as we were going to Universal Studios for the day before our nighttime flight. When we got to reception, the manager was not working. It was an employee names Nate. He could not of been more helpful. Nate was polite and quickly offered us reimbursement of one of our night stays at the motel. I quickly accepted this offer as we had an uber booked to pick us up. He also explained that the manager was not there to show us the CCTV, asked me to be ready on my phone to check on booking.com should they find my gifts, and asked if I could not leave a review until I returned to collect my bags later that day.|| ||A couple hours went by and at around 9am, I received a message from the motel on booking.com that some of my gifts were found and they were ready for collection when I went back to get my bags. I asked where they were found within the room, and they replied that housekeeping found them within 5 minutes of cleaning our room but would not be able to tell us about the exact location in which they were found. ||||We returned at around 5pm to collect our bags and stolen goods when we were met with the same woman who dealt with the hairdryer situation and who watched us walk into our room with our bag of gifts. I never managed to get her name. When I went into the reception to retrieve my bags and stolen goods, the lady was ‘playing dumb’ and was acting as if she did not know what I was talking about. She began to raise her voice and disrespect me as a customer and was refusing to provide me with confirmation of the reimbursement of my one-night stay. She said ‘since we found some of your gifts, we will no longer be reimbursing you for one night’. I was not happy about this as I heard and seen (Nate) from this morning take my credit card and put it through the machine for refund. I already knew the money was making its way to my account – I just wanted confirmation of this. ||||After not backing down, she eventually phoned her manager to get in contact with Nate so I could explain to him what was happening as it was only the lady who was working. He also explained that I would not be getting a refund because they found some of my stolen gifts. I was not happy with Nate when he said this and explained that I had held off all day without writing a review as it would tarnish the reputation of their business. I explained that I would not be leaving the reception without confirmation of it going back in my bank and that I would be calling the police again. To which the lady working in the reception said ‘call the police, we don’t care. Nate asked to speak with the lady on the phone, and after their phone call, she printed me off the invoice and I was on my way. ||||I have never dealt with such shady, unprofessional and unempathetic people before in my life. Being from Scotland, and being so far away from home, staying in this hotel totally changed my view on Los Angeles as a city and I will never be returning. Please avoid this motel at all costs unless you’re okay with your items being stolen. ||||I truly believe that had I not called the police, or continued to press their staff, the gifts that were clearly stolen from me would never have been returned. I just hope that I am the only person this has happened too, and no one else has been taken advantage of like I...
Read moreLocation is decent. Short drive to Venice/Santa Monica. 30 min drive to Universal Studios. Restaurants are a short drive away. Seems like the quiet part of town but totally fine with it. Outdoor parking next to each room is convenient. The bedding and little bugs were the most disappointing stuff. Little ants or bugs on our towels and bathtub were noticed. The bed has to be the worse experience I've dealt with. The bed frame was loud and squeaky. The bed is super soft and felt like I was sinking into hell. The placement of the AC next to the bed is horrible if your the one sleeping next to it. The pillows were hard, stiff, high and small (imagine throw pillows). Something I haven't done since my infant years was trying to sleep without a pillow...the worse. Wi-Fi kept dropping. Room service was great. At the end of the day the room would be cleaned up. Though I expected essentials to be restocked, it wasn't. I've had better hotels with this price range. The "one lotion per room" was quite the thing to hear (4...
Read moreWhat a terrible experience at this place! we stayed on 2 different days in the week of August 21-25. The first time the room had a broken bathroom door and we complained about the same. Nothing was done to fix it . One of the keys provided to us to access the room was also not working. on Check out I tried to explain all the inconvenience. The guy at the reception lobby said that he will talk to the Manager and email me back to see if the Manager can do something or even provide me with a compensation. I received no emails. Second time during check in I told the receptionist about my earlier concerns. The receptionist who was another person this time agreed to only provide a compensation of 6$ and then finally raised it to 15$. The room provided to us was stinking of pee. We figured out that the AC was not cleaned up properly so we turned the ACC off and the room got stuffy over the night. I will not recommend anyone...
