I have to tell you, the Big Sky Cafe was the best thing to happen to us in Cut Bank, Montana. We had a full day tour leaving from the East entrance to Glacier National Park and stopped into the Big Sky Cafe at 6:00 a.m. Gary the owner was very welcoming and friendly and told us to sit anywhere. Of course, there was only one other customer there at 6:00 a.m. who was a good old boy; one of the locals and a regular customer. Also, very friendly, welcoming and full of jocularity. I had a little blunder reading the menu when I saw three egg omelettes and just happened to see hash. So, I looked at my friend and said hey they have hash omelettes. Do you want to split one? She said sure. When Gary came over I looked at him and said if at all possible we would like to split a hash and cheese omelet. Gary looked at me kind of puzzled and went to turn the menu and I said: OMG! Did I misread the menu? Gary responded: While we have hash, we don't have a hash omelet. He then asked us if we would like one. We said we would love one. Gary said well that's one good thing about being the owner, you can do whatever you want... Lol. So Gary went off, had the omelet made and then divided it for us and brought us back two plates with a beautiful omelette topped with cheese and home fries for both of us. Also brought us a side order of rye toast. As it turned out, the hash that I read was hash browns...😂 The Big Sky Cafe turned out to be a wonderful start to our full day with the tour and then a little bit of a drive after the tour. When Gary brought the check over, much to our surprise it was $15.25 for a three egg hash omelette with cheese home fries right toast and a cup of tea. See the receipt attached. The Big Sky Cafe had great food, wonderful service and a great atmosphere shared with the locals of Cut Bank. Thank you so much Gary for being so welcoming. Totally enjoyed your cafe. Also thank you to the older gentleman that was sitting there enjoying his morning coffee who also made us feel welcome. If I was a local of Cut Bank, he and I would be in contention to see who got to your restaurant first. Read moreHad better experience last time, but this time I had ordered the biscuits/gravy, two eggs and homemade fries and my husband had the French toast with two sausage links n two eggs. The biscuit gravy would have been better if home made and not out of a bag and my eggs were hard to cut in half with my fork overly cooked. I would have steamed them so they were softer and I had to ask the waitress to have the cook reheat my plate because it was like eating my food at room temperature made me sick n I’ll probably never Order biscuits/gravy here again, but you won it on the French toast plate. Just needs more multitasking to insure food is hot n at safe...
