Had high hopes for this place and I was let down.
My wife and I are huge weebs , and I mean where else in Miami Florida are you able to Dine like the rest of the great Anime hero’s do ?
Upon first visiting I was greeted by 2 female employees who asked if we would be dining in or taking out
My wife and I decided that we would be dining in for her birthday.
Upon asking us for our order the following occurred
Asked for my own waters to start us off (this should be given as courtesy)
Purchased a bottled sprite there should really be a bottle opener near by had to use my anime power to open the bottle.
Asked if there was any specials was told no
Asked if there was any specials to accommodate birthdays was told no (10% off on a desert item won’t kill you guys )
Was not recommended any appetizers had to ask after my order was placed
We were not seated and had to place our order at the desk as opposed to traditional dining
One redeeming moment was that the girls did have a decent memorization of the menu.
Once the food was ready our number was called and I had to get up and retrieve it as oppose to one of the waitresses bringing it to my table ( I’m not bougie this is a restaurant not McDonalds we were literally 4 feet away )
Upon getting to the meal
My wife ordered Tokotsu Ramen and I would have given it a great review only thing is there was a hair in her meal. Mind you both her and I have very long hair and the hair in the photo isn’t long or dyed. Like ours. (Hair nets are cheap guys )
The dumplings were slamming I just wished that there were more sauces available to go with them other than soy sauce and chili oil ??
My seafood ramen was bland needed more seasoning on the shrimp and octopus even if it’s generic like all purpose or salt otherwise it was fine.
Hope this review reaches management to improve the quality of what would have been a...
Read moreWas really excited about this Ramen place opening up close to where I live. So I went to try it with cautious optimism. Prices seem fair from what I have paid for Ramen elsewhere. The place is simple, clean in appearance. Not a ‘dive’ or a uniquely decorated place, more of an order counter and small tables with chairs. My Tonkotsu Ramen was $15, there is a Mega portion for $20. Tasted the broth and it wasn’t the thick, silky broth I have experienced in my travels. The noodles felt like the store bought packets of dry ramen. That surprised me and disappointed me. Bamboo shoots were meh..No texture. The pork chashu tasted oven baked, wasn’t bad but wasn’t special either. The best part of the meal was soft boil egg. I went away feeling like this was made up of prefab noodles, canned broth, canned bamboo shoots. Feels like I could make this same bowl of ramen at home pretty easily with similar results and that’s not a positive statement. So for me, this wasn’t special. The prices are similar to what I have paid for memorable, much better bowls of ramen and I’d gladly pay that for a good bowl here. But this felt lazy, fast food and simplified in ingredients and presentation. It’s still relatively new and hopefully they can make improvements, running changes. I will give Yume another chance and would love to have a nearby local spot that I can support. But first experience left me disappointed. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good either. Comparison that comes to mind is something I would get at an airport terminal before a flight. It’s more expensive than it should be for what they’re using, nothing special but passable enough for a meal. I was...
Read moreStopped in for lunch with my husband. The atmosphere is giving rebel/punk, with what looks like customer scribbles all over the walls + a sizable Yume mascot standing against the wall.
I ordered a side of pork belly. It was a pretty thick + girth, I'd say somewhere between 1-2 inches thick and probably about 4 inches wide. It which came fully saturated in some brown sauce and the texure was buttery soft. The pork wheel is marbled with a delicious fat ring that packs a lot of flavor. I would highly recommend it!!
My husband ordered the Yume Mega Bowl with featured the same pork belly roll I ordered, as well as another cut of pork in slices and sliced chicken with curly noodles and a boiled egg that fell somewhere between soft and hard boiled. We found the chicken to be lacking flavor. The alternative pork was decent but nowhere near as good as the pork belly. The noodles were also decent but seemed like they'd be so much better if we let them sit for a while to absorbed the broth flavor. He added spice which was mild to moderate during his meal but very spicy at the end as the spice seems to settle at the bottom.
We ordered a lychee fruit tea + a passion fruit fruit tea. Both had identifiable fruit flavors but neither was overly sweet and the tea flavor was...
