Hole In The Wall Tavern — Restaurant in Palmetto Bay

Hole in the wall used to he the best spot around. But after covid they got super cheap with their service and it has been upsetting. They no longer offer table service. They expect you to go up and order your food as if we were eating at taco bell and still expect a tip. On top of that they now close early. You drive up on a friday or saturday night and you now see nothing but available parking because of how empty it is. Years prior it was atrocious to find parking because they were super full. They now close earlier during the weekend which makes sense, why stay open for crickets? The staff is rather rude and condescending when asked if they will ever get table service again as if it annoys them and then unnecessarily repeat and push to order because the kitchen was closing early on a Saturday night as if it was our faults on a weekend night to show up at 9pm to eat. I mean, we are the customers and we are looking for a good decent place to spend our money at. I just feel as if though the establishment isnt worth it anymore and it is properly hanging by a thread. There is a reason why The Sand Bar at Cutler Bay is so full, it is as if Hole in the Wall has pushed their loyal customers over to them. I just wished they wouldnt have thought that Covid was a good excuse to just reduce the quality of The Hole in the Wall. Because it used to be a great local/neighborhood bar to go and relax with family...

I have to start off by saying I love this location. As far as my review I do not come here for the food so don't take that to heart. The food is some part at best normally. The drink prices are spot on and I have no issues with my beers at this location ever. The beers are served cold with no sour tap taste. The service is generally good I would highly recommend coming in the afternoon for the best service. Highly recommended as a location to go to hang out as it is a very friendly local establishment. 6-16-25 I don't know what to say anymore. No one is watching this hen house anymore. The service quality has dropped to a 1 star. The last few times I have come in I have left without service. Today is no different. Today both servers got within about 3 ft of me and not as much as a hello or what do you want drink. Keep in mind I'm sitting at the bar. The young lady walked up and served a beer to the person sitting next to me. I did not get a smile a hello or give me a minute. A minute later the gentleman working the bar served a person on the other side of me. No surprise didn't say a word to me. This generation has no idea how to properly run or work in this type of atmosphere. I need to learn to only come here when Sam is working. Come on Sam find better stuff.

7-3-25 happy days Nicole...

My first time walking in this place today and will be my last I was in the pub for about 5 mins and walked out. I was with my son and best friend. We walked in and sat a a hitop. There were about 4 people at the bar and one other family sitting at a table. This place is not big at all. As we sat at the hitop looking at the football games on tv, I then look over to the bar where the gentleman was taken care of the bar and the lady who I never got names. But the lady stated “out of all the tables in here they had to sit there”. So I asked if there’s a problem with we’re we are sitting? She did even look my way and started talking to the kitchen and then with her fingers slung the close hanger pins down the string in the window. So my son and my friend and I left. As we were walking out the gentleman at the bar said he was sorry. She should be sorry and not working in an environment that she has to work with people. It is also a big learning experience for my son that people are not kind and have jobs just to get a pay check. Clearly she is not happy working there and maybe she should look into another job not working...
