Charley's Cheesesteak and Wings — Restaurant in Dallas

This was my FIRST time trying them out last night because it popped up as order $20 and get free wings so decided why not since I live in Plano. BAD CHOICE! The meat was TASTLESS, I barely ate quarter of it before throwing away, hoping that maybe more bites would make it better. It didn't. The bread just fell apart (maybe because I ordered double meat but yeah, I went to pick it up and it just broke without me barely picking it up. The bread was NOT tasty. Their wings were SUB PAR (definitely not level of any wing spot or even Pizza spots in DFW or other bars) Their watermelon Straw lemonade was AMAZING! That was BEST part of the meal. I just found out Freds (THE BEST CHEESESESTEAK SPOT IN DFW) delivers free delivery to me via Doordash, so I will stick to them from now on. They are also just as close to me as Charleys if not a little closer. They are the closest to REAL PHILLY cheesesteaks. I was born and raised in Jersey and been to Ginos and Pats MANY times and Fred's owner / family is from Philly. I order X2 steak there because their meat AND bread is THAT good! This place I am pretty sure I cooked Steak Ems in the past and they tasted better than this!...

Upon entree to the eatabishment we were met with the cashier Ruby, Miss Ruby makes you feel like you’re part of her family while you’re there asking about your personal life but not too deep questions and making you really feel like it’s not just another establishment but a place that you can be yourself now you don’t go to Charlie’s Philly cheesesteaks for healthy options you go for comfort food and that’s absolutely what they provide. Every time we go and see the Charlie‘s off of Frankford Road we are always pleasantly surprised to see our customer service rep Miss Ruby manning the register she has an outstanding attitude and it really makes it feel as though you’ve made a new friend for a life time. The food is always really great we’ve never had a single problem their turnaround time in the kitchen is absolute magic and last but not least it’s nice to run into an establishment that you can call your secondary homebase thank you so much Charlie you have a fantastic associate on your team...

The service was great. The sandwich (Philly) was below sub-par. I've always gone to the Plano location but, this one (recently opened) was on my way home on this day so, I decided to stop here. I regret that decision. I'd been craving a Philly from Charley's. This is not it! The bread tastes weird. VERY little meat. NO flavor. I paid almost 2 dollars for extra cheese and what I got is the same amount of cheese as what comes on it (no extra). The cheese sauce (for fries) was clumpy (old?). The fries were under cooked and soggy. They didn't even bother to use the Charley's boxes or bags. I saw the cashier skip over the branded bags to put my food in the yellow happy face "Have a Nice Day" cheapo bags. I only mention that bc, if you skimp on the actual branded items, what else are you skimping on? I will GLADLY be going to the PLANO Charley's tomorrow bc this visit failed to cure my craving.
