Cotton Candy Donuts — Restaurant in Dallas

Now this is a UNIQUE little donut shop! Located next to an (equally unique) gardening center, Cotton Candy Donuts offers a happy environment, run by happy people! The prices are on point, and the quality is on par! They have a great array of regular donuts (and they claim to use more water and less oil than most donut shops), a fantastic array of cake and glazed donuts, eclairs and creme-filled, as well as kolache's galore! Now, here's where it gets interesting... I went here for the first time a couple of days ago, walking in at around 4:58am (they open at 5:00am I was not even the first customer)... I ordered mainly cake donuts, and they had some pretty neat ones. They had a lemon-bar flavored cake donut, as well as a chocolate-covered cake with crushed peanuts to top! I figured I may as well get a creme-filled for my son so I casually asked the nice lady for a creme filled. She went and grabbed one, asking if I would like plain or chocolate glaze, and then proceeded to walk to the other side of the store. BEFORE I KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING, she had shoved the donut onto a tube, and was asking me what flavor creme I wanted in it. They literally fill them per-order! After paying for my dozen donuts, preparing to walk out of the store (still dumbfounded by what had just happened), yet again she pulled another trick out of her sleeve as she walked up to me with a little white bag and a smile on her face. Extending the bag for me, and telling me to "enjoy my morning", she handed me a piping hot, glazed donut. Somehow, she had managed to ninja a donut into the cooker while I was there, without my noticing, to complete a baker's-dozen, and that one was on the house for me to enjoy on my walk home. I would recommend Cotton Candy Donuts to ANYONE. Oh, and did I mention? You can call in custom-orders for donuts in the shapes of letters and such to spell out kids names for birthdays and other such occasions, and they will glaze them in just about any color you can think of (and they have quite a few toppings to choose too). This was my favorite donut place until today. I have not visited in a while, but I saw they had a special on the app to good to go so I ordered my donuts from there. please note I've done this before and the previous times I've had a variety of donuts and it was packaged professionally in one of their white to go boxes so when I go pick up my food, it's already ready. Today I told her that I was here to pick up my too good to go order. It was not ready. She proceeded to go to a cooler and get an old dirty box that previously had sodas or drinks in it that are now in the refrigerator. placed a white sheet at the bottom of the box and put my donuts in there. I noticed the smell was different in their donut shop and I asked if they were new owners and she said yes, and I could obviously tell by the way she was packaging my food, and the way it smelled in there. on my previously to good to go orders, I received a variety of donuts. today they provided me with five glazed donuts, three cake donuts, one chocolate, 2 blueberry and a chocolate twist. I was very disappointed in the presentation and the taste of my food. I went back in to get a separate sack because the cake donuts were touching the nasty box that she got off of a cooler And she made sure that I only got one small white baggy.
