The food at meat point is excellent; the service was okay but still in need of development; and they have a few rough spots. We arrived a little after 7 p.m. on a Sunday night. It had been quite a while since we ate here; our oldest son was visiting from Boston and wanted to eat here before heading back home. We were told to sit anywhere. Since it was cold, we wanted to sit away from the door and asked if it would be okay to sit at a table of six and were told sure. So we sat down and looked over the menu. Our waitress came by and started to take our order when another waiter came by and said we had to move. I asked why and he said other guests were coming and needed the table for six. I asked if it was a larger party and the said yes so we moved to a table for 4 that was closer to the door. We ordered the baked cauliflower and baladi eggplant appetizers along with two tahini beef kabob entrees and the Jerusalem mix dinner. The eggplant appetizer came out first. I asked about the bread. He said it would be out momentarily and I ordered a pita as well. About 8 minutes later the bread arrived and we started to eat the eggplant which was delicious. The cauliflower arrived about 4 minutes later and it was quite tasty. The pita made it to the table about 5 minutes later. Then the wait started. They were about half full. About 30 minutes after the arrival of our appetizers, I noticed the table next to us that arrived after us and after we placed our order was being served their entrees. Also, the table we were moved from had two people seated at it. Two of our three entrees arrived a few minutes later. The third entree took another 5 minutes. Two more people arrived for the six top for a total of four. We finished our meal and I asked for the bill. The six top still had 4 people. It took almost 10 minutes to get the bill. Then another 5 minutes to pay which was done at the table👍. I asked for the paper receipt and he said he would get it right away. 5 minutes later we had to remind him. He went and got it...
Read moreI'm a foodie, I was in my feelings because I was expecting to eat Mexican food. My husband brought me here to eat some fine kosher food. I was just thinking about queso and chips. I'm a plain girl with plain taste buds and didn't like anything I read on the menu. I rarely try anything new. I ordered a Spicy burger with cheese. I was told that they don't serve cheese or milk products as they are kosher. 🤦🏻♀️ How could I forget about kosher meals. My husband got the Jerusalem mix and he ordered some Shawarma food with the "house bread". I was still upset. I wanted greasy fat food. When they brought out the appetizers I decided to taste the bread which was covered in some pesto and other liquids, maybe butter. The Shawarma ended up to be chicken which was surrounded by hummus. I didn't like the way it looked but as my husband says, "you can't not like something if you've never tasted it". The house bread was hot and I ate it with the chicken and a tad bit of hummus. It tasted yummy. My plate arrived and it was a burger with fries. It was spicy. No cheese but the burger was AWESOME. I understood why she said it would still taste delicious without cheese. She was right. My husband's plate was what looked like a tortilla cut in half and light yellow rice on the side. We were also brought 3 pita breads warmed up. My summary: excellent meal and even better desserts, I had hot chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. (We don't do dairy) all meals kosher and dairy free. The price is high, our meal and dessert was $94. But y'all it was so worth it. I highly recommend this location, we've added it to our "spots" when in town. Thanks for reading. My man was treating me, we haven't had a date in a while. Our job...
Read moreI am a frequent guest at Meat Point. The food is excellent, although a bit pricey you will definitely enjoy it! The chef uses fresh herbs and unique ingredients and meats to create authentic, delicious, dishes that will delight your taste buds!! The Hummus with Schwarma is a "hidden treasure" it's actually not on the menu, but you can request it, and it's my favorite appetizer, it is served with warm freshly baked pita that is unlike any other in this city!! The sweet breads appetizer is my other treat! Grilled and served in a delicious olive oil, herb infused, vinigarate it's a delicacy that is rare in Dallas. There are quite a variety of burgers, each with their own special taste and all exceptional! Another favorite entrée is the Honey Dijon crunchy pargiot. But be careful, it's one of those foods that after tasting it once, you find yourself craving it and random times! Also, be sure to leave room for dessert. The choice of Desserts is plentiful and each one is scrumptious!! I am not a big fan of alcohol, however, they have a very nice choice of wines and other alcoholic beverages. The ambience is warm and celebratory, and booths are comfortable and afford a bit of extra privacy. Be sure to call ahead for a booth because they fill up quick!! The service is good, the waitstaff friendly and accommodating... Shout out to my SUPER SWEET FAVORITE...
