Hand down THE BEST PIZZA I have ever tasted.
Here’s some context:
I grew up in Los Angeles around pizza stores galore. Not only that, my childhood best friend owned a pizza store (well his parents did, and he worked there) from which I got pizza all the time (some times free too). So it’s safe to say that I’m no stranger to good pizza and a variety of pizza at that.
To top it off, I spent six years in Brooklyn with multiple pizza shops within 5-10 minutes of walking. Again, I have had a variety of pizza.
So when I say this is the best pizza I’ve ever tasted…you better take that seriously.
My wife and I went to Pizza Ella for date night during its soft opening. We ordered a 16 inch White Pizza. The pizza was ready within 10 minutes and right away the smell made us salivate.
We took it to go and drove to a parking lot a couple minutes away to eat in the car. From the first bite we were in Heaven.
The crust as a whole was perfect. It had the right amount of thinness/thickness to it. It wasn’t too think and not too thin. Even more than that it wasn’t perfectly crisp. There was no soggy bottom or any of that garbage.
You know how sometimes you get a pizza and there’s so much cheese and sauce that it all just slides off in one glob….well there was none of that here. There was the perfect amount of cheese and sauce to give it a good flavor and cheesy ness without ruining the rest of the pizza. It was packed with so much flavor that every bite was a celebration in the mouth.
And the crust….oh boy the crust…it was the right amount of thickness at the end. Just absolutely perfect.
My wife and I polished off the whole pie on our own.
Now here’s the most important part. Usually when we eat pizza we end up regretting it. I end up in the…well let’s just say I end up with a massive stomach ache.
We always justify that it’s worth it (it never is). But with the Pizza Ella pizza….no such thing. Ot was the cleanest feeling we’ve ever had. No lactose intolerance. No stomach aches or stomach pains. No bloating or bad feelings.
Just pure delight.
So much so that we kept talking about it long after we finished eating it.
The pizza was so good that I drive back to the store to tell the owner and chef just how good it was. And here’s where it gets better. Because good food is good food. But if the service is garbage it ruins everything.
The owner was appreciative of my feedback but beyond that he shared with me his vision for the store, the struggles they had with finding the right way to make it, and even a little glimpse into what is to come.
So if you’re looking for a great pizza made by people who clearly care about the craft and the customer look no further than Pizza Ella.

Read moreUpdated - Second time here and I am not happy. We were 5 people and were trying to put the inside tables together and was told not to put three together. No one came in after us so it wasn't busy, so I am not sure why we couldn't use 3 small tables for our party. The tables and chairs were dirty but there was no concern there. Zero customer service! We ordered 7 slices like the ones you purchase by the slice, and were told that we should just have a pie, to which we agreed. The pie we got was half the size of the one they sell by the slice, and certainly not enough for 5 people. The gentleman proceeded to explain that he never makes the larger pie for table orders and proceeded to explain the pricing, which I never asked him for. Overall, the flavor was good but the dough very soft and completely different from the slice, which is thinner and more crispy. It would seem that they stretch the dough for the slices to make them thinner. Coming from a place where pizza is culture, this was hard to swallow. And the price exorbitant for the small pie. Needless to say, the picture I posted was for a slice, but don't expect the same size when you order a pie. And don't expect it to be crispy. The restaurant exists to serve the Jewish community, and that is beautiful. But outside of that community not so much. They have a good opportunity to turn it around by adding someone else at the front who understands service, and knows how to listen to the customer, all while continuing to honor the Sabbath and closing during that time. That's commendable, but if you turn people off outside that community you won’t be around too much longer.

Read moreWow! Eater Dallas never lies! We love shakshuka and have found a few places around that make good ones. I saw Eater recommended this spot and I saw they have Shaksuka for breakfast so we made the trek this morning. It was delicious. The tomato sauce is flavorful with the perfect amount of spice and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The Israeli salad on the side was bright and fresh and the fresh bread made the perfect dipper for the tomato sauce. We will definitely be back. There’s a tv screen showing the other menu items and the pizza, pasta and desserts look great too! Atmosphere wise it’s a casual neighborhood pizza place with a nice patio on the side for dining. Service is friendly too. We will...
