LA CHIQUITIBUM ICE CREAM — Restaurant in Dallas

A beautiful little ice cream shop off Belt Line Road. Seating is extremely limited, but the service is excellent. In addition to Mexican traditions such as raspados (snow cones) and licuados (similar to a smoothie), you can still find most of your favorite ice creams, made by Blue Bell. My chocolate shake was perfect, a good size for a medium, and made with three generous scoops of chocolate.

Now, this doesn't mean they're perfect. Leaving aside that the staff speak very little English (phone translation apps are your friend), the prices are at least twice what you'd pay at Braums. But for an occasional indulgence with great local flavor (and a side in nachos and elotes),...

Second time I have a bad experience here. Decided to come back and give them the benefit of the doubt but the quality of the food is poor. I had an Agua de sandia(watermelon water) which was very watered down, could barely taste the watermelon. The papitas preparadas were so stale, no crunch at all, hard to chew. And my previpus experience was expired cueritos, as soon as I opened the box i could smell they were bad. So definitely no excuse. The fresas con crema were not any better. The crema has good taste but the fresh were hard and sour. Purchased three items and not one...

So much to say about this place. I love their paletas! they melt kind of fast so if you have kids id get some napkins for sure. I have also purchased their 2 scope bowl and they give you a lot of ice cream. it felt like a pint of ice cream. It is blue bell ice cream so its really tasty.
