Uncomfortable time with an unprofessional follow up.

Recently made the trip out to North Slope thinking I was going to try some local beers. Well, they failed to mention anywhere on their website that their brewer had “quit” and they can’t hire an new one “because of the pandemic”. On top of this, when we were seated and served at North Slope, our entire experience was rushed by a server looking to get her last tip before shift exchange. I could not take a sip of my store bought beer without her asking if we were ready for our check. I have never had a more awkward experience at a restaurant, ever. When the server finally did tell us that her shift was ending and that we needed our check to be transferred, she told us to leave a good review because the manager had been feeling down. Are you kidding me?

Now, I can understand the service not being great due to the described circumstances with staffing but the real issue was what followed our visit. For the sake of future customers, my girlfriend wrote a review of our less than ideal experience on a social media platform. That review led to numerous comments from the North Slope staff questioning her review and attempting to downplay our poor visit. They harassed a customer for leaving an honest review and claimed we should have brought up the issue in person. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I don’t enjoy having verbal arguments with restaurant staff when I pay for a service. This is not a place we will be returning to, and without a serious overhaul of management and staffing attitudes towards customers, I can’t see how this business becomes successful.

Take what you will from this review, but it would be difficult for me to recommend North...

Had high hopes for this place. We've driven past on occasion and it always looked full. Before coming, we even called to check the wait. We arrived and, besides the couple at the bar, we were the only two there on a Friday night.

The establishment looks great. Clean, love the woodwork. That's about where it ends. Ordered the cheesesteak springroll appetizer, the signature burger with fries and my lady had the coconut curry chicken.

The app was ok. Interesting take on a spring roll. Not sure about the price

Main course went downhill. The fries were overdone, which I commented to the waitress. Also tasted like they were cooked in old oil instead of fresh. The burger was cooked properly to medium, but was bland. The cheese on the burger wasn't even melted and the edges were rubbery. When I asked how the curry chicken was, my partner said "bland".

Also a shame that there only seemed to be two ciders to choose from that were brewed by the establishment. Reading the other reviews, I see that there may not be a brewer working here which is extremely disappointing.

I wonder if maybe we hit an off night. If not, it's really no wonder why it was empty. At $60 for our meal and a drink each and being the only two there, I feel like I could have at least gotten decent...

We thought we had finally found a place in the back mountain that had consistently good food. Well that changed tonight. I have ordered the same burger many times. Tonight was disgusting. I usually will just toss it in the bin and not return when this happens at a returant. This time deserved a call and chance to redeem since the food was amazing previously.

The original order was 2 pub burgers mid well and sweet potatoes fries. Both burgers were pretty rare ucooked burger and super soggy potato fries.

The replacement was supposed to be better. It was 2 over cooked well done burgers. Very little sauce and they changed the lettuce on the replacement burgers to spring mix. I never received potato fries or chips the second time. That I paid extra for. I just received plain fries that were more soggy that the original order. Neither one of us finished the burger. The fries went in the bin.

If you have changed cooks please call the old one back because this burger was previously one of my favorites. Overall 2 burgers and fries for $40 plus tip that were very...

We arrived at North Slope shortly before 7 p.m. on a Friday night. Although there was seating available, it was near where the evening's live band was to play. So we opted to sit outside, which was far enough away from a somewhat busy road, so there was minimal distraction. The live music was appropriate, a mixture of soul and blues, and not too loud as to prohibit conversation. I ordered the brisket egg rolls, which was a very good appetizer, filled with enough meat and melted cheese. The loaded mac and cheese with pulled pork was a bit disappointing. Although the pork was very tasty, the Mac and cheese was extremely bland, so although I had the texture, all I could taste was the pork. The NS Signature Burger was cooked as ordered, but the bourbon sauce was also a bit bland, and the potato chips were overdone. I would be remiss if I didn't mention our lovely server Makenzie, who was quite pleasant, had an infectious smile, and always made sure we had everything we asked for. The atmosphere was nice, but, other than the appetizers, the food could have been better.

North Slope Brewing Company is one of my favorite places to dine in NEPA. It's always a great place to visit when I just want to kick back, relax, and take it easy. They make their own beer right inside the restaurant and have a great menu to choose from. I recommend their salads. Their humongous, delicious, and fresh. My favorites are the Kale Cesar Salad and the Buffalo Cobb Salad. Can share these for two and take some home. Can't beat that! The staff is always polite, the place is always clean, and I always leave satisfied. The food is always served hot, fresh, and presented beautifully. North Slope also has really good chicken bites with a variety of sauces and I'd have to say they have he best wings in the Diamond City. I cannot wait until my next visit.
