I recently decided to try Records Barbecue, drawn in by the promise of Texas-style barbecue. I ordered two rib plates, with sides of mac and cheese, and green beans, as well as smoked chicken with potato salad and, once again, green beans. However, my experience was far from satisfying, starting from the very beginning. The exterior of the restaurant, old and outdated, did not set a positive tone, and it only got worse when I arrived at the drive-through. The menu was difficult to read from the car, causing unnecessary frustration before I even placed my order. While the staff was generally friendly, the service was average at best. I spent five minutes waiting in the drive-through, which, although not an excessive amount of time, was a bit longer than I would have expected. When the food came out, I was immediately unimpressed. The presentation was messy, with tomato-based barbecue sauce spilling into the potato salad, and green bean juice scattered everywhere. But the real disappointment came from the main dishes. The ribs, which I had high hopes for, didn’t taste smoked at all. They were tough and tasted watered down, feeling as if they were more bone than meat. Similarly, the chicken also fell flat (same as the ribs). To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. This was by far the worst barbecue I have ever had, and certainly the worst I’ve had in Texas. In conclusion, I regretfully will not be returning to Records Barbecue. Despite the friendly staff, the combination of poor food quality, average service, and an outdated exterior made for a thoroughly disappointing experience. I would recommend others to look elsewhere for their barbecue cravings. If I wasn’t in a rush I would have asked for a refund.

Decided to try this place based on some guy’s video review on Facebook. I had the brisket sandwich on bun dry (sauce on the side based on another google review) with Mac n cheese on the side, my husband had the 2 meat plate (chicken and ribs) with green beans and corn on the side, and a small peach cobbler. First off the sauce is nasty, the brisket meat was dry and tasteless, the chicken was old and dry and my husband’s food was drowned in sauce to mask the fact that it was tasteless. I do not recommend! The peach cobbler tasted burnt and watery. We will stick to Hard 8 BBQ or Soulmans BBQ. $44 wasted! I’d rather eat a cigarette than to eat this again!

Well wanted a good turkey leg, gave this place a second chance. Been about two years since I first tried their brisket sandwich and I wasn't impressed then nor am I now.... as you can see this meat is not falling off the bone - tough as ever! They claim they smoke ALL their meat? Should have saved my money. Updated: It was a 20+ min wait to order via drive thru only - return 20 min wait but got my $13.53 back after all I still need to eat dinner tonight.

It smells good when you walk in, you know you're about to get a good plate of food however... Before I got my food a lady's cup of koolaid spilled cause someone bumped the table and it was just about a fourth of the cup. She cleaned the mess with the help of the other person who spilled it and then she asked the woman behind the register if she would mind refilling what was spilled (the table was visibly wobbly). The woman straight up said no and told her it would be $2.71 for another full cup. She stated that she wasn't able to drop it off because of some rule... Sounded like b.s. honestly. It ended up with the lady who bumped the wobbly table buying the other lady a full cup to replace what she spilled. That's foul that the employee wouldn't replace such a small amount...... Seriously. Its KOOLAID and super cheap. I had ordered the medium spicy brisket and when I got it, it's not hot. At all. Not even a little. They serve ranch style beans instead of baked beans which is weird but okay.. I would of liked a heads up on that - but that's cool. The banana pudding was disappointing as it was warm. Yuck. The strawberry cakes frosting melted clean off the cake so another disappointment. My husband didnt care for anything on his plate aside from the brisket, he had the banana pudding and barely ate two bites and that's his favorite dessert. Overall I am hoping I just happened to visit on an off day because my mother in law says they're usually great and friendly. Well maybe next time we are in town we will give them...
