We will never return to dine here. Management does nothing. Service is below average. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night, pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t too busy inside as it usually is, and the hostess passed many tables to sit us in the corner of an uncomfortably warm sun room tucked away from the main dining room. It took 10 minutes for a server to approach our table. We considered leaving but we did not. Our baby was hungry and tired. Once we ordered the food was okay, but as we ate we noticed an infestation of large crickets crawling around us (see my photos). At first, I thought that’s pretty gross but continued eating. As we noticed more and more crickets we lost our appetite but our server was nowhere to be found. I asked the hostess to send the manager to our table. He came to meet us and when I expressed our discomfort at the infestation of bugs around our feet as we ate he said “oh the crickets?”. He informed us that he had already called pest control earlier in the day and that “they better show up tonight”. He didn’t seem concerned, did not offer to comp any of our meal, and didn’t seem to understand why I would suggest they not sit customers in this area of the restaurant at this time. We got our check and as we packed up to leave an employee came by to sweep up any crickets he could find. They probably continued to sit people in that area after we left.
It makes me nauseous to think about what the kitchen might look like if they are so careless to sit paying customers in an area of known insect infestation. And it’s disappointing that the manager did nothing in the realm of comping our meal, offering to send home a free dessert, etc.
There are many excellent Tex Mex options in this area of Dallas. Too many to come here and have this type...
Read moreAs I walk in I’m kindly greeted by the manager and the hostess. I was sat in Carla’s section. My husband and I asked for water with lime & no ice.. we get our waters got no lime, which is fine we had to ask again.
Our food comes out and everything smells and looks good. I got Ernie’s chicken which is one of my favorite dishes at this establishment. The pico and guac was fresh, the rice was hot and tasty & the chicken was tasty & marinated.. my only complaint was the poblano sauce was chunky, it had clumps of stringy cheese (which I’ve never seen before on this meal).
Carla comes by after I was done eating half of my meal and after my partner finished their meal. I asked for the check and to go boxes. So she stepped away to tend to other customers and as she’s handling the big platter of different dishes a plate falls to the floor. Glass flew up and struck the side of my face.
Carla did ask if I was fine but it showed I was very frustrated. She stepped away again and then came back and said “I’ll tell the manager so he can do something about your food & so you’re not bothered”….
The only thing I was bothered by was the tone in her response while she rolled her eyes, which was very unnecessary and unprofessional.
The manager came over apologized and comped our meal. They also gave me a new Ernie’s Chicken meal bc I had a lot of food left over and I was planning on taking home but due to glass flying everywhere, it obviously wasn’t safe to...
Read moreWe were just trying to celebrate a big accomplishment for my senior graduating nusing students, and we were met with disappointment!
Well, where do I even begin? If you're looking for a place to practice your patience and reflexes, MiCocina Richardson is the spot for you! As a regular of both casucal and fine dining establishments, I expected a pleasant evening at Mi Cocina Richardson. Oh, how I was wrong!
First, we waited a whopping 25 minutes past our quoted time for our group of 8. Mind you, other big groups of 6-7 (who arrived after us) were waltzed to their tables first. And guess what? They were all Caucasian. We were not. Coincidence? We think not!
When we finally got to our table, the server practically threw the silverware at us! We had to dodge these sharp instruments like it was a game of darts. Not exactly the kind of excitement we were looking for.
To top it off, we were left parched for a solid 10 minutes without a beverage. And even when they finally remembered we existed, we still didn’t have glasses to drink out of for another 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, the table across from us (seated after us) was immediately greeted by the same server and swiftly served their drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Seriously, what gives?
Mi Cocina Richardson, you've left us feeling more unwelcome than a hair in our guacamole....
