2024 edit: Terrible does not begin to describe the last two visits. We were so disappointed with our take-out three months ago, we didn't return until tonight: New Years Eve 2024. "Terrible" would be overselling the food, as it was nearly inedible. I am going to highlight one item, as I do not wish to put more energy than necessary into a worthless cause. The crab wontons were darker than the crust on wheat bread (see photos). They looked like they had been deep fried over again to reheat them, at least once; possibly twice. If this had happened any other night of the year, I would have returned with this literally hot garbage, and demanded to speak with the manager. At this point, I don't care. I'm not going to post photos of the other entrees. The rest of the food is in the garbage can. I felt really bad for the garbage can, even though it's inanimate. Nothing deserves to hold this, other than the hands which cooked it and put it into a container. We will never return. They do not get three strikes. It's over. Previously relevant review from 2014, after years of tasty food before writing the review below: ̶C̶h̶i̶n̶e̶s̶e̶ ̶f̶o̶o̶d̶ ̶c̶o̶o̶k̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶o̶r̶d̶e̶r̶.̶ ̶A̶ ̶l̶o̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶C̶h̶i̶n̶e̶s̶e̶ ̶r̶e̶s̶t̶a̶u̶r̶a̶n̶t̶s̶ ̶I̶'̶v̶e̶ ̶b̶e̶e̶n̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶r̶g̶u̶e̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶m̶e̶ ̶w̶h̶e̶n̶ ̶I̶ ̶o̶r̶d̶e̶r̶ ̶l̶o̶ ̶m̶e̶i̶n̶ ̶i̶n̶s̶t̶e̶a̶d̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶r̶i̶c̶e̶,̶ ̶b̶e̶c̶a̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶u̶r̶v̶e̶y̶o̶r̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶s̶i̶s̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶d̶o̶e̶s̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶g̶o̶.̶ ̶N̶o̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶c̶a̶s̶e̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶R̶o̶y̶a̶l̶ ̶W̶o̶k̶.̶ ̶T̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶a̶l̶s̶o̶ ̶s̶u̶b̶s̶t̶i̶t̶u̶t̶e̶ ̶v̶e̶g̶g̶i̶e̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶d̶i̶s̶h̶e̶s̶,̶ ̶w̶h̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶g̶r̶e̶a̶t̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶m̶e̶,̶ ̶b̶e̶c̶a̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶I̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶d̶i̶g̶e̶s̶t̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶i̶s̶s̶u̶e̶s̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶b̶r̶o̶c̶c̶o̶l̶i̶.̶ ̶I̶ ̶r̶e̶c̶o̶m̶m̶e̶n̶d̶ ̶o̶r̶a̶n̶g̶e̶ ̶c̶h̶i̶c̶k̶e̶n̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶s̶n̶o̶w̶ ̶p̶e̶a̶ ̶p̶o̶d̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶l̶o̶ ̶m̶e̶i̶n̶ ̶n̶o̶o̶d̶l̶e̶s̶.̶

The lady was so sweet. She welcomed us and invited us to dine in even though we showed up 40 minutes before closing time on a Monday. The type of enthusiasm that makes you feel valued not just as a customer but out of human kindness. She plated the table fully and made our first time dining experience memorable. She was so attentive and even pulled a chair to the side so I could place my purse. We mentioned we were waiting on a friend to arrive and she catered to our needs by making sure (out of politeness) to bring the entrees out when he arrived. While we prayed they also made sure not to interrupt with the plating. It’s a small gesture of respect that made me reflect on times I maybe could have been more mindful of other’s beliefs or cultures. The food was beautifully plated and served as community dining. This felt like thanksgiving in May. The prices were reasonable but the experience….you just can’t put a price on that.

First off, the woman at rhe counter is the sweetest thing ever. She was so attentive and super helpful even though we ordered to go. Now, for the food... When we got back to our hotel room We open our food and ...the shock..... my egg foo young was burned, the shrimp in it was soooooo dry, the sauce was so sweet it was disgusting. It is TRULY the worst chinese I jave ever had. My friend had shrimp lo mein, she said it tasted weird, I tasted it and it was indeed weird, like store bought noodles, thats been cooked too long, her egg rolls were ok but had a strong ginger flavor, lastly her crab wantons were so over fried that whenever she took a bite it would crumble in her hand and fall everywhere. So disappointed to have wasted my damn money because I refuse to keep eating it.

We’ve supported this restaurant for nearly 25 years now and my Korean wife for a longer period.

I believe the owners moved locations to there in perhaps the late 80s/early 90s from a location off of I-35E further South of Royal Lane.

What you generally see is that their staff is all family by birth or marriage and on the busiest days of the year extended family come to help out.

We know the dishes we like and only stray periodically to change things up.

A no frills place for good to great food at a reasonable price.

Chinese food is meant to be eaten hot out of the kitchen.

The owner wife speaks three languages and as many have expressed is the kindest customer service-oriented people you will ever meet.

She is a shadow of her former self but still exceeds most people’s expectations.

The place has stood the test of time to include the pandemic and would love to see them have the large regular groups show back up, etc. which would most likely result in less of the poor reviews I noted before taking time out to register our vote.

I have been loyal through the pandemic to my coffee shop, my breakfast waiter of 30+ years since arriving in the DFW area for my final Air Force assignment and this restaurant, as well.

I especially used to really enjoy observing and listening to the Korean families who would come to eat those comfort food dishes which they came to love here, just adding to the environment.

Lunch portions are even more affordable if you can get there early enough before having to order dinner entrees.

So, come visit, ask questions, choose what you to believe is a safe bet entree or just order what you have in the past and support this family who tries very...

I would like to say I used order from this place every once in a while, they were decent, until a recent incident with them. We ordered food from them for 12 pm ( lunch break), the food was delivered, and tasted like day old food. We called to get a refund or re-order, no refund of course, and they wouldn't replace my order because I had ate most of the rice( not the main entree) go figure. They were not pleased with the complaint, stating that they had just cooked the food. Eventually they agreed to replace only 1 of our orders, so my co worker got hers replaced, she shared her freshly cooked food, with 3 of us, the food was initially good. However, all 3 of us were sick to our stomach within an hour of consuming the food. I didn't know that type of stomach pain existed!!!! OMG!!!! But, I found that kind of ironic for all 3 of us would be sick after getting food from them that was replaced. Needless to say, we are NEVER ordering from them again. I can't speak for anyone else's opinion of them, this is just my recent experience with them, eat at...
