4.3 stars. 1st time customers. Driven by here for years but never stopped in. Wife wanted Korean food so we finally gave this place a shot. From the outside and the surrounding area, we did not expect much. Immediately upon entering, however, we were warmly greeted by the ajumma who smiled and seated us. Well lit and clean, we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was not too full on a Saturday night but smelled wonderful from the plates of other customers. We started with the Kimchi Pachun ($15.99) as our appetizer. Decently sized, it was tasty and served to us by our server Jennifer. For main entrees, our son had the Galbi Naengmyun ($29.99) which he absolutely enjoyed. Perfectly seasoned and cooked beef short ribs served with cold noodles hit the spot. Wife had the Kimchi Dolsot Bibimbap ($17.99) while I went with the Kimchi Jigae ($17.99). Both were served piping hot along with numerous banchan. Service was consistent throughout the evening with the team removing plates, dishes when finished and topping off our drinks. Overall, we enjoyed our first experience here. With tip included, dinner for our party of 3 totaled $105. Korea House has been in business since 1979 (from what I read on a newspaper clipping located on the wall). It’s easy to see how and why it still continues to hold its ground in the competitive DFW food scene. We recommend you check this place out at least once the next time you are digging Korean flavors.

They have dividers between some of the tables. We went early and were seated at one of them- felt almost like a separate room, which was really nice. Server was knowledgeable and smoothly attentive, we felt like we were served by a private butler. We ordered Haemul Pajun, Altang, Honey pork ribs BBQ, and Ojingo Bokum. There were lots of side dishes. Pajun wasn't exceptional but maybe from a little time pressure: they made sure to serve it before the other dishes. Both Ojingo bokum and honey pork ribs came in big portions and were very satisfying. The Altang was stellar. Served in a stone pot with lots of al (fish egg) and tasty broth. We can't wait for our next visit!

I came here to meet some friends for dinner. It wasn't too bad, I had heard about this place for a while and had been meaning to try it out. I had the eel which was delicious but it had a lot of bones. I had a very delectable plum wine that paired well with the meal. I did feel a little rush to order from our server even though I had gotten there later than everyone else. They have a big menu so it was hard to decide. I had an even harder time being that I'm vegetarian but make an exception for fish. I liked it but it was not something I would return to have again. Pretty pricy and something is just a tad bit off about the atmosphere. Staff was friendly though.

I just had the weirdest experience while eating a late lunch at Korea House today (11/15/21). I have dined at Korea House a multitude of times over the past 20 years and before today I would have given them 5 stars. But, I can't look past today's experience.

I went specifically because I wanted their grilled Mackerel dish. I've had it many times before and it's delicious. Everything is going well - they've brought the miso soup while I was waiting and it was great. They then bring my Mackerel dish out in a Bento box - 2 pieces of fish, kimchi, braised potatoes (gamja jorim), glass noodles (japche), scallion pancake (pajun), garlic & seseame spinach, and rice. I start eating and, as usual, everything taste good.

About halfway through my meal the waitress comes up and says that she needs to take back my meal because "he wants to inspect it" ... I'm sorry what now? She repeats the same thing and starts to take my meal. At this point I'm so shocked that I just let her take it. I watch as she walks toward the kitchen, sets it on a serving trolley and then someone else brings up a white trash can and they dump the food into the trash.

The waitress comes back with a menu and asks me to order something else to replace my original meal. I looked at her and asked if there was something wrong with the food because I just saw it being thrown away. She laughs a little and says no - they just threw away the rice but the rest was going to be inspected. Again, what?

In hindsight I wouldn't have ordered anything else but I guess I was still somewhat shocked and confused. I asked for their Eel bowl, which is basically BBQ eel over rice that I've had before.

A while later I get some sort of sushi roll that had small slivers of eel, & avocado wrapped in rice & topped with eel sauce. Not what I asked for but at this time I just need to finish lunch and get back to the office.

The waitress comes back to see if everything is OK and I ask for the check. When it comes it's for the full amount of what I assume is the sushi roll and my iced tea. Really?! After taking my meal halfway through for "inspection" you're not going to comp something?

I just paid the bill and even left a tip - but I won't ever go back again. The whole situation was sketchy and to honest I'm just sitting here waiting...

We went to this restaurant craving kalbi. We were seated and we immediately noticed that there weren't hoods over the tables. That's not necessarily a bad thing because sometimes the hood vents are built into the grill. But we later found out they don't have any vents period. So expect to smell like bbq at this restaurant if you're grilling at the table. The next thing I noticed is the type of grill they use. Even though they advertise charcoal grill on the outside of the restaurant in Korean (sutbul gui), our "grill" was a metal pan and a infrared heat source underneath. Basically, if you get tabletop bbq here, you're getting pan cooked meat. If I had known this, I wouldn't have come here. We were disappointed but thought may be the food is still good. They forgot our appetizer order and we didn't remind them because we didn't like the way our meal was headed. They brought the banchan, which there were only 6. They didn't bring us the lettuce and the ssamjang which I think is a standard if you're offering tabletop Korean bbq. When one of us mentioned this, they only brought the ssamjang. The bright spot of the meal were the denjang chige and the steamed eggs. The banchan themselves were just standard and wasn't special. The kalbi itself was good and the cuts were well- marinaded and thick, but it would have been much better if it was grilled on a real grill. But our waiter wasn't refilling our banchan nor was he asking us if we needed anything else. There are so many great Korean restaurants in the area and I'm a bit surprised they managed to stay open still. The fact that they're on a corner lot may help them attract more customers, but their food and service...

Horrible experience for my first taste of Korean. I ordered the combo (bulgogi/chicken)bento after reading a review on here and my poor friend ordered the tempura udon. Waiter was not very knowledgeable with the menu, repetitive, didn't listen to us (he kept telling me to order fish and spicy dishes after I said no spicy foods), and i had to tell him 4 times for non spicy chicken. He kept asking the same question again and again. Any way, the udon was tasteless and she was not satisfied with it. She asked to exchange it for something different, but this place does not strive for customer satisfaction. Waiter said, "no I cannot!". They could only add an order but not replace an order. She asked for a manager and explained to her why she did not like the food and if it was possible to get something different. The manager told my friend she touched it already so they would have to throw it away. My friend said, "yes you would have to because I cannot eat this". She asked her what she wanted and then asked, "what are you going to do if you don't like the second one? You cannot throw away again, we don't like wasting food!". Lol We were pretty shocked. So I told her to not place a second order, cause God knows what they would have done to that dish. Never will we return. I think we will stick with Chinese or Thai food. Nothing sounded appetizing on the menu and the table bbq bulgogi was $22 for each individual, which I thought was a little up there for a place like this. Do...
