August 2020. We were looking for great sushi places to eat, and we were excited about this place because of their good reviews. However, Once is ENOUGH, and we will NEVER come back here again. It is not because of their service (Their service was good, no complains since there were only tables at that time). We care about more the food or end product.
Their food is just whatever, nothing memorable, just filled up with bunch of Fake crab meat and rice, and SAUCES to cover up the freshness of the seafood, which is the Koreans’ specialty. We had ALL YOU CAN EAT for $36.00 per each adult, but with restrictions ( you will pay for what you cannot finished , and cannot take home ). FYI: Yes, the price went up from $29.95 to $36.00 in just two months. I saw someone’s review was saying $30.00 per each adult ( 2 months ago posted ). However, we DO NOT MIND paying IF the food or end product is high quality because $36.00 is nothing. We had paid before over $200.00 per person for excellent sushi.
To our disappointments: The scallop hand roll was tasteless, tiny scallops, and old. Their sushi (the 2 pieces option on their AYCE Menu) has no flavor on both the seafood and rice, seafood tasted low quality with not much of seafood flavor. Their NO Rice Rolls and Baked rolls were just ok , but OVERLOADED with fake crab meat and sauces, so you can’t taste the seafood anymore or the seafood freshness and keep you full. Also, their BAKED rolls ( Michelle Roll ) was too salty. Lastly, some of their items on their AYCE- menu are not even available. And no dessert at the end , like other AYCE places do offer. In conclusion, we HIGHLTY DO NOT RECOMMEND you to come here if you want authentic Japanese food or sushi ! Go somewhere else instead! This place is DEFINETLY NOT a JAPANESE LEGIT SUSHI restaurant, but Korean with bunch of sauces to cover up the food-freshness. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE Korean BBQ done by Koreans. But , Sushi Yokohama...
Read more2023 Review: Adding more pictures. The menu has changed a bit since I've been. Prices are now $45/person for AYCE, as everything everywhere inflation strikes again. However don't let that deter you! Many do a la carte and it's worth it for lunch special or if you're wanting very solid quality sushi and rolls without AYCE.
The nigiri and rolls have good rice ratio, the taste is great, and the service was good this time around.
2022 Review: This place has been consistently good for me. I never had a moment where I thought the fish texture or smell was off. At the time I write this, I've been at least 3 times now.
The price has gone up, but so has everything else unfortunately. I always get All You Can Eat (AYCE) and I think it can be worth it if you're ready for it 😂
Food is good, rice ratio isn't too high. The fish is soft and tasty. I can't say I have a favorite roll, I've been trying different things on each visit so try different things out! Just be mindful about waste, there will be extra charge for wasted food so bring someone who can take clean up duty on dishes you don't like hah.
On Friday/Saturday night, it can get pretty busy and there might be a wait so try and go for early or later dinner if you don't want to wait. Service has gotten better the last time I went since there were more servers. One time there was only 2 servers for the whole restaurant and I can see they struggled a bit. Luckily here, there's no time limit like some other places so it didn't feel like a rush that you had to take every single minute to order and eat.
Overall been one of my favorite places to go get sushi even with the...
Read moreSushi Yokohama in Dallas offers an All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi experience that stands out for its fresh, well-prepared fish, but at $45 per person, the price felt a bit high for an AYCE spot.
What I Ordered: • Tuna & Salmon Sushi – Both the tuna and salmon were fresh, buttery, and well-cut, with a good fish-to-rice ratio. The texture was smooth, and the flavor was clean, making it a highlight of the meal. • Shrimp Tempura Roll – A crispy, well-balanced roll, with light, airy batter and a sweet eel sauce drizzle that complemented the shrimp perfectly. • Preston Roll – A visually appealing roll topped with fresh tuna and salmon, plus a hint of wasabi. The combination of sashimi and wasabi gave it a nice depth of flavor without overpowering the freshness of the fish.
Price vs. Value:
While the quality was excellent, the $45 price felt a bit steep, especially when compared to other AYCE spots in the area. If you can eat a lot of sushi, you might get your money’s worth, but for a more moderate meal, you could get similar quality at an à la carte sushi bar for the same price or less.
Final Verdict:
Sushi Yokohama delivers fresh, well-executed sushi and rolls, making it a great option for those who prioritize quality in an AYCE setting. However, the price might not be the best value for everyone. If you’re in the mood for high-quality sushi and plan to eat a lot, it’s worth checking out—but if you’re just looking for a few rolls and some sushi, à la carte might be the...
