Hey everybody wanted to let y’all know about a little breakfast/lunch spot. It’s called Mimi’s Cafe up in both Dallas. It’s at the intersection of Mapleshade and Preston road, just south of 190. The place probably holds about 45 to 50 people, so not a large place but not tiny either, it’s just right. I went for breakfast around 10:00 a.m. on a Monday and there were 15 to 20 people there. Their menu is nice and varied. It goes from traditional breakfast teams, to pancakes, Benedict’s, omelet’s, skillet’s, biscuits and gravy, etc.. really attentive waitstaff, courteous and knowledgeable. After getting some coffee, I ordered the three meat omelet (bacon, ham, sausage) with hash browns and marbled rye toast. Within ten minutes I was eating. It was fresh, hot and really tasty, especially the rye toast, it seems to me at least that it’s kind of hard to find in a lot of restaurants around here. The portions were above average for sure and it’s nice to feel that you are getting your money’s worth you know. You can see into the kitchen that’s just behind a small divider wall so you know exactly what is going on, which is also nice. The prices are in a good place, especially these days when cost keep going up. For my breakfast ( three meat omelet, hash browns, toast and coffee ) came to 15.57, which I believe is very fair for the amount and quality I received. So to wrap this up, if you are around this area come on over and give Mimi’s a try, I believe you will throughly enjoy this place, the atmosphere and people. Everyone stay...
Read moreI have no pictures so starting off I’ll say I had scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, hashbrowns, and pancakes with berries. Everything was amazing. The berries on the pancakes tasted SO fresh, the bacon was a good medium between chewy and crispy, and the toast was toasty. If I had to nitpick, the eggs were a bit plain but I only use salt and pepper anyways so after adding that they were great. My wife got over medium eggs and they were cooked phenomenally; she says she doesn’t know if she’s had over medium that close to perfect ever before. The food is delectable.
The waitress didn’t keep us waiting long and had no complaints with whatever we asked. We brought our 1 year old and the waitress, Michelle I believe, brought out several things to occupy him with while we waited for food. Only complaint here is the food came out so fast (while still being hot and fresh) that he didn’t want to put the toys down!
The restaurant is small and can’t fit many people but that’s perfect for me, feels like youre at someone’s house for a meal. The waitress stands at a podium where everyone eating can see them and vice versa so I don’t see how anyone could ever have slow service. Between the amazing food, fantastic service, and home-like feeling I receive while eating here, I love it and can’t...
Read moreThe friendliness of the employees was phenomenal. OMG Alma had the best spirit and always singing. Yaritza aka Jelly Is the sweetest and gets you seated right away. Anna was our waitress and she was amazing. So vibrant and lively!
The food was good and served pretty quick. The OJ was the freshest I have ever had. They make it fresh for you when ordered. My brother and I love grits but in restaurants they are never good so we don’t ever get but he got them today and they were wonderful. Not runny nor were they chunky! The menu is vast lots of must try’s!
I was in town visiting and my brother suggested this place based on the story of the owners and supporting small business is always good especially when you get amazing service. Lots of regulars were coming in which is always good to see. I wish I lived closer I would go for lunch as well. But I will definitely come back upon next visit to Dallas. It’s located in a small strip plaza. So it can get crowded quick when leaving business...
